They should never host if this is the best they can do

That’s not how it works.

Over 4,000 people on a Sunday night with bad weather.

Cry more.

What are they hosting? Is it a big deal? Would google, but generally not interested in little league.

Saban used to throw fits for fans leaving early and not showing up and this was during the peak Bama run so it doesn’t surprise me that fans aren’t there in droves in support of baseball. I know Rob was pushing for a big turnout last night and it looked kinda packed early. Very good game. Wish I was there. I love Bama baseball even when we weren’t good. Being on campus in the Spring is much more laid back than during football season.

7pm start the day after we were delayed an hour and a half to a 730 first pitch

It's the summer and kids are out of school, those late nights are rough. I sat out yesterday's game after going Friday and Saturday, that delay Saturday made for a looooong afternoon and evening.

Hopefully we catch a late afternoon 4pm or so timeslot for this weekend.

This typically accounts for only about 5% of your crowds. If Oxford and Starkville can fill up much larger stadiums, you should be able to fill 7k seats.

What a horrible look but can be expected from that fanbase.

"Students are out for the summer" meanwhile most regionals are packed-out for the host team.

I get it, I love baseball but nobody watches college baseball. Unless you are at LSU or Coastal or one or two others baseball will always be 3rd and some cases 4th fiddle. We barely have 1000 at Condrun on midweeks and we’ve been good as long as I’ve been alive. It is what it is.

When you've been as successful as Alabama in football, rooting on a second rate sport just has less meaning.

Highly disagree. I brought my four year old on Friday with another buddy and his five year old and there were tons of kids there. We also had some heavy rain move through during both Saturday and Sunday during the game that ran some people off from the non-covered sections.

I wish we had better attendance too, but there's a few symptoms that led to decreased attendance. If we get a decent timeslot next weekend, I'm anticipating a really good crowd.

This is partially the reason.

The OP is kinda right, too. But, I do think the buzz is picking up around here lately.

I think the other problem is people that grow up here are Bama football fans above all else, and then you see tons of Braves fans here. So, for baseball, we watch the Braves. That sorta scratches the itch.

We went to a couple Bama games this year, recently. I had a fun arse time. We are gonna buy season tickets next year because for the ones you don't go to, you can sell the tickets for cheap. After only a few, you'll pay for the season ticket prices, and every game you go to is essentially free. So that's our current plan for next year.

Zero attendance at the Oxford regional this weekend.

Saban was doing that when he was left with 75000 to watch the Citadel play the week before the Iron Bowl.

This guy just wants a small pct. of the ones who left the Citadel game to show up for his team in a regional final to advance to the final 16 for a fraction of the cost.
