Just wait until the OP hears what the attendance of Number 1 seed UCLA was. Here's a hint, it didn't crack 2,000.
"Yea but thats a sellout" If UCLA had 7,000-8,000 seat stadium that wouldn't come close to filling it. And they have much larger population base of 13 million in the metro.

A lot of Alabama fans lean heavily into professional baseball and root for the Braves. That's just how it is.

I mean, we haven't been to Omaha since 99. It's not rocket science to point towards why fan engagement isn't to the same level as football or basketball at this point.

The threat of rain all weekend didn’t help. I bailed on going to the Friday game because I was sure it was going to rain. It ended up missing the ballpark.

The threat of rain??
This occurred during the second game of a day totaling about 4 hours worth of rain delays.

Yes, the threat of rain kept me away. The last damn thing I wanted on Friday night was what happened to the poor bastards in Auburn last night - the game ended at 1 am. The last thing I wanted was to be was soaking wet with an hour drive home at 2 am in the morning.

That would suck and kept me away. Auburn has enough locals that like Butch to keep coming.
I dont think Bama has fully bought into their coach yet

Maybe have a promo day like "If you bring your wife who is also your sister" You get a thunder stick?

I guess I'll be the one to say IDGAF about college baseball.
I've purchased Alabama baseball season tickets just to support the program, but rarely if ever go to a game or even watch it on TV.
I'm proud of the team for doing well, but if they win it'll mean just about as much to me as a softball or wheelchair basketball trophy.
Sorry if honesty offends, but I'm also a huge college basketball fan and hardly anyone else here cares about that whole sport, so I get how crazy this must sound if you happen to be passionate about it.

The issue with Alabama baseball is that most people don't know much about it. Hardly anyone knows the names of the coaches or the players. We don't know when baseball season really begins and there are no schedules or anything that anyone can ever find.
Practically no one knows the history of Alabama baseball and have no real vested interest in seeing it succeed or fail, either way.
Baseball is boring and is a dying sport that is just interesting to cultists who somehow derive happiness from monotony and flat, humdrum, activity on the field.
Most Alabama football fans would rather get excited and revved up to watch some paint dry than to watch baseball.
There simply is no appeal to the game; it's time has passed and better options are now available.

We’ve heard that for 15 years. Eventually it will happen.

That's pretty sad if that's the case at UF. Your program has been in the CWS finals 4 times in the 2000's and won 1 natty out of those visits. There are brethren programs in the SEC that would give anything to have that kind of history. And UF has good facilities too. I can't understand why fans don't show up but it is what it is.

We hosted and we are hosting again. Cry some more, bitch.

Alabama was also playing in Oklahoma City in the WCWS. It is hard to put an exact number on how many, but some of those fans would have almost certainly attended the baseball series if not for that. I bet a lot of the same fans who care enough to travel to Oklahoma would have attended a home regional if not for the conflict.
