The town is also missing about 40,000 students right now and the weather was pretty shite all weekend

I get what you're saying and would love for the crowd and atmosphere to be more like it is at LSU, Miss State, and Ole Miss during a regional but as you know whether a team/place hosts or not is determined by the season a team has more than potential attendance or lack thereof.
LSU, Ole Miss, and Miss State are much more established baseball programs with a lot more recent success so it's going to take more success at Alabama to begin to get closer to the size crowds at the aforementioned schools.
Having said all that, it'll be packed for the super regional next weekend

So is Starkville, which is right next door to you. They didn't seem to have the same attendance problems.

Are you really comparing Mississippi State baseball fandom to Alabama baseball fandom?
Apples to oranges and you know that.
That said, I was disappointed to see that few of people there. I would’ve been there if not for living 1200 miles away.

My dad is an Alabama football fan. He couldn’t tell you the first thing that is going on in any of their other sports, even basketball. It’s one of the things that makes their sidewalk fan base so irritating.

Meanwhile, at 1 AM after multiple rain delays over two games throughout the day…

I love when people make these kind of posts. “Haha, you guys suck because my friends and/or family sucks in this particular manner!”

If they continue to find consistency and build a winning product attendance is not going to be an issue. It’s not going to happen over night after 15 years of nothing. Those stands were packed in the Jim Wells era.

They’ve also built a winning product over multiple decades. And made it a priority. You’re comparing apples and oranges. Alabama has had a good track record at times. But it’s ebbed and flowed more than other top programs in the SEC.

So you are a sidewalk LSWho? fan?
I'm retired military, but I don't give out my collegiate details. I've probably been retired longer than you've been alive.

Agree. I have been knowing Rob since he was in high school. Great dude even though I am a few years older than him. He is tight with one of my hunting buddies down here in our burb of Houston. I was honestly unsure of his hire after the aftermath of the previous coaching trainwreck. I kinda felt like he was walking into a hornet’s nest but man has he has he stepped up and shown to be resilient. He is a great coach and leader. Bama couldn’t have made a better pick. I just hope we can keep him around since as this thread proves, Bama baseball plays third string around campus and a school that focuses more on baseball might start sniffing around. It would be nice to get to Omaha and wake up our fans that think the only baseball team to pull for isn’t in Atlanta.
