It cheapens their entire product….they could use Paul in some format, but the show as it is is unspeakably bad. I know most folks here feel that way. It CAN’T be that popular/well liked………………..can it?

It’s easy inventory for drive time when they need something to put on in bars/restaurants and most people aren’t even home to watch.

There's absolutely nothing else to fill daytime airtime with.

I highly doubt many people sit there and watch like 3 hours of morons calling in.

The show is an embarrassment but that's the little appeal it has.

What else are they going to show between 2-6 PM every day?

The callers belong on the Jerry Springer show. It's actually good when it's him talking with some sort of reporter or analyst.

The callers all sound like they're calling from the trailer park, and it's always ego driven like they're trying to be the best caller or something. Really hard to listen when he goes to the phones.

Bring back some version of College Flash Classics that JP used to do.

It’s the sports talk equivalent of reality TV. You can’t explain why it’s popular, most of the participants are morons but people tune in anyway.

His radio show was a big deal. It did so well it steadily got bigger for years. First just in Birmingham, then it somehow got syndication. Then Harvey Updyke happened and the show got big enough that when ESPN fired up the SEC Network he was brought in to fill daytime.

Yep. The early days from Birmingham especially during football season was highly entertaining. Miss those shows. Paul used to be quite feisty.

Buffering would be an improvement.

It’s terrible. I don’t see how anyone watches that show.

I had the same thought earlier today. Listened to hear talk of the Final Four… didn’t last 5 minutes. The callers are all just a complete embarrassment to humanity. It’s not remotely funny or entertaining.

This. If the callers were eliminated completely and it was just him talking to reporters, coaches, and other sports analysts, it would actually be a decent show.

The other thing the SEC Network needs to do is expand their morning show. During football season, they have Peter Burns and Chris Doering every Monday and Friday. They need to do that show every day of the week with other studio hosts doing Tues - Thurs. During basketball season it could be PB or Dari or some one else with one of the basketball analysts and same for baseball season.

I’m actually a little surprised they don’t have a popping morning show….there’s plenty of content available.
