TBF Mingione also got into it with Wes Johnson a couple of weeks ago. He just kinda does that.

But also… yeah, following up Ross Bjork with Trev Alberts tells me you’re more serious about winning press conferences than actually putting together programs with a plan for continued success.

The Marruci bats have been kind of a let down this year with many on here noticing they may be a little flat.

Hasn’t hurt UGA which leads the NCAA in HR, SLG, R, and RBI this season and has been a Marruci school since Wes came over last year.
Can’t imagine how much it must suck to not have a Final Four banner in your gym.

Just truly must be the worst.

If I take off my burnt orange shades, I’d say Georgia takes 2 of 3. But I like our team, and you just never know.

I will never pick us to win a road series in the SEC. Think we can get the requisite 1 win and anything else is gravy

Georgia up 4-3 going into the 9th. I'm sure our closer will make this interesting.

Our closer was the starter for game 2. We don’t have a closer.
Burnett is still getting over being sick (why Black is now in the game). Zabo had 2 hits and 2 runs in the first game today, just not seeing the titan shots they’re both known for (Zabo was also sick midweek FWIW)

Dude has come off the bench to lob 10 Ks including 7 straight. Suppose it’s karma for Kolten Smith doing similar last night and spoiling what was a pretty great outing by their two Auburn arms.
2 runs and their starter chased in the first

Could e been more but I’ll take that trade
So weird. Give up the ghost to tie it up 6-6 and I wasn’t bothered at all. Just knew this team would score more runs. And they did.

27-2 is absolutely insane
Schedule update:

Now playing a double header on Saturday

First game will be at 11AM, second game at 4 pm (as originally scheduled)
In other news, Ryan Black was held out today but will be back in the lineup tomorrow, per Wes

Tre Phelps is likely going to be out for the weekend but maybe longer. Getting an MRI on his hamstring as he apparently pulled it this week

Dawgs beat Aubie 4-1.

After having his manhood challenged by Wes in the mound in Gainesville before closing out the Friday game, Kolten Smith goes 5 hitless and scoreless innings with 8Ks tonight.

If he has turned a corner to be the Friday night guy we thought he would be preseason, we are going to contend for the conference title come May.
- Spent beginning of the game really focusing on Goldstein. Went 3 shut out innings with only 3 hits and 4 Ks but also gave up 4 BB. His change up and breaking pitches were clocking in at 80/81 and were really good. But his problem right now is that his velo is only topping out at 91 and he cannot consistently locate it. Seems to be an issue of arm strength after TJ and it’s making it hard for him to work those other pitches off of fastballs that are neither fast nor typically strikes.

- Kolten Smith’s whole season seems to have taken a turn in Gainesville. 5 innings, no runs, no hits, 1 walk, 8 Ks. THAT is the guy we thought we’d have as a Friday night starter to begin the year. We are going to Omaha if that’s what he’s going to be for us moving forward.

- On the other end, offense wasn’t bad tonight but we were in the 7th before we had a runner in scoring position. In particular, Burnett seems to still be getting over the stomach bug he and Zabo had midweek (Wes said as of yeaterday morning that he was still getting an IV). Ultimately, 4 runs on 6 hits is pretty decent work for an SEC Friday game BUT I don’t even hve to look it up to know that 14 strikeouts is absolutely our season high. We were definitely being aggressive at the plate as every single strikeout was swinging (none looking) but Auburn threw 2 arms and both were dealing. Glad we touched them up for 2 HRs and thankfully it was enough. Hope that was the best their staff has to offer…

- Yeah, Radtke is our closer in lieu of Curley starting. Please no more Zeldin in the 9th
