And this is her thinly veiled attempt to keep it that way by smearing the name of her high character soon to be ex-husband.

Barker & Evans did make a prenup agreement
when they were married---that in case of a divorce,
"both parties would exit the marriage as they came, with no additional monies or assets granted to either party." In this case I think it would be
"sugar mama" because Evans' would have made a ton
more than Barker.

If I have my math right, and depending on how you count the 93 season, he’s the second most winningest Alabama starting QB (35 wins), behind AJ McCarron (36 wins).

I’m not passing judgment on this incident because none of us know the facts, but for the record she filed for divorce against him last August citing irreconcilable differences and spousal misconduct.
On edit the last allegation was “inappropriate marital conduct.”

I don't know if it is or isn't, but it seems clear that she did this in her first divorce.

Nailed it.
Eventually she will end up a pathetic lonely woman with this behavior. I’ve seen it a hundred times.

OK then. He doesn't come to my mind when I think "Bama icon," but I guess I can understand why someone might say that.

Given her history, I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt here. I think I saw there was surveillance video, so the truth will come out for sure.

Dadgum. I don't know anything about the circumstances, but last time I checked both Evans and Barkers were divorced. And I don't see anyone combing through Jay Barker's divorce filings for saucy details.
What I'm guessing is that neither one of these people are particularly nice. So this bro worship of Jay Barker as the injured party is really, really weird.

It was public knowledge that Jay Barker's first wife was caught in an affair. His relationship with Evans was a bit of a surprise and a "Good guys come out on top" story.
As it turns out, sometimes good guys are just really good at getting screwed over.

That's not what is happening here. We have been going through about a decade (or more) of women just straight up lying in situations like this, even to the point of lying under oath during a Senate hearing to consider the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice. At this point, I take literally anything a woman claims with a huge grain of salt until there are actual facts that come out to support her story.
The "believe all women" movement has had the opposite effect on me. I no longer believe any of them if I don't know them personally.

Well, before 3,000 yard passing seasons and 20+ TD passing seasons became the norm at Bama under Saban, Barker’s 94 season was about as good as it would get at Alabama.
If Barker had had a better offensive scheme, his 93 season stats would probably have been on par with his senior stats in 94. But that smash mouth offense of the Stalling era wasn’t friendly to QB development.

Sara Evans is a trashy whore with a history of lying. You don't pay your ex-nanny $500k to settle a defamation suit unless you knowingly lied about her to get an advantage in a Family Court hearing. And had her first husband actually had an affair, he would have been barred from receiving alimony in most jurisdictions. Instead she had to pay him $50k per year for 10 years. I have seen this time after time throughout the years. These kinds of women are borderline personalities who are adept at using the legal system to their advantage. Lord help the next guy who thinks they can turn that ho into a housewife.

People are so hoping that Bama fans are here defending their hero that they are just making stuff up. There seems to be no consensus at all by fans to defend Jay. I don’t know either personally so he could be guilty or not. Time will tell.

That'll depend on how much money he made off of her while they were married, assuming he has his own bank account and assets. His personal brand certainly grew over that time.
He's living in an apartment off one of the main roads near Belmont University according to the white pages. He should be living the middle aged high life in Brentwood right now.

No opinion on Jay other than that he sucked on the radio. That trash stayed on the air WAY too long.

Yeah. His opinions sucked. I was glad to see that WJOX show sent off to pasture. The two morning shows that have come after 3 Man Drive have been night and day better. The WJOX Roundtable had a nice variety of topics. The Cubelic and McElroy Show gives you really good football analysis.

Actually "good guys" are often prime targets
for getting screwed over. The good guy wants to
believe the best in a person and perceives his
goodness as being an inherent trait in others....
thus leaving him as a vulnerable dumb arse.
*Disclaimer: I was never a dumb arse so none
of the above applies to me.
