Wood started a midweek game this week and the two relievers in game 2 of the Missouri State series were Carter and Frank. Both of which have two of the highest ERAs on the team. I struggle to call that the front of our bullpen.

I would shake the lineup up some.
Stoval needs to be batting with runners on base. Maybe move him to the 3 hole and have Hunt lead off.

I wish we'd play more smallball. We obviously can't rely on a hit parade so we need to manufacture runs when we get the walks that we're pretty good at drawing.
Wouldn't hurt to steal a bit more, either.

Probably auto corrected Holt.

Not sure that's what I'd say about a guy that just threw 3 scoreless innings against one of the best offenses in the conference.
If you can't figure out that Wood was a stop gap for a shitty pitching staff then you don't knowl ball
It was blatantly obvious that DVH was playing for the win today and the bats sucked arse again

Agreed on the need to go small ball. We rely on free base runners by way of walks, errors, and the occasional HBP and have made a living on charity runs this year.
The problem is that we’re too often getting those base runners with 2 outs and unable to drive them in with base hits, hence the high number of LOB we continue to see.
Given that our homers are way down this year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see DVH start resorting to more small ball, stealing, and hit and runs.

At least A&M lost 2 of 3 at LSU.
Road games are tough.

I wonder how many more years DVH has in him? Not that I'm advocating for his retirement, because I'm not.

I thought he would’ve gotten there for our five weeks ago

He’s just recently been able to recruit at a very high level now that he has facilities, fan support and Omaha recency in his pocket so I could see him hanging around awhile unless somehow the wheels fall off.
He seems to be enjoying it.

He wants a ring. I think he'll chase for a while. This year is the first year I've seriously pondered the question, though. Makes me sad.

Until Thompson is fired or goes to Mo. St. DVH won't ever have a ring.
The more I watch this team the more I believe in Dale.
And you nailed it, 4-5 to finish the season.

I wonder if we snag Aloy's freshman brother at BYU this offseason? I am sure he'd come play with his brother and he is still BYU's leading hitter in the Big 12 at .307/.509/.867 8HR 37RBI 50H as a true freshman. That might be more impressive than Wehiwa's freshman year at Sac State with competition factor.
Mostly just DH's but 1B when not and Ben is a senior.

In his postgame presser after game 3, DVH sounded pissed about the hitting.
Basically said we’re not getting the big hit when we need it and we’re not hitting with RISP (hence the high number of LOB we’ve been seeing). A little bit of “that’s baseball” sprinkled in (which isn’t untrue), but he sounded pissed at our lineup.
He also sounded a bit frustrated with Molina’s inability to throw strikes and thus high pitch counts fairly early in games. Second start in a row where he hasn’t made it through the 4th inning.
Worth noting that we’re 0-3 in Molina’s last three starts dating back to game 2 against Alabama, and we’re 3-4 in SEC games he starts (14-3 in the rest of our SEC games).

Surprised he didn't say we're hitting it hard but right at 'em.
Leaving ducks on ths pond isn't really anything new for this team over the last 6 years
