Former MLB Player Monte Harrison Joins The Arkansas Football Program

Former MLB Player Monte Harrison is reportedly joining the Arkansas football program as a walk-on.

Harrison was a four-star wide receiver in high school in 2014 and committed to Nebraska but ended up signing with the Milwaukee Brewers. He turns 30 years old next year. Per The Times Record:

According to an Arkansas spokesperson, Monte Harrison committed to the Razorbacks Monday and will join the football team as a walk-on. Harrison logged 68 at-bats across three MLB seasons, last appearing with the Los Angeles Angels in 2022.

Harrison, 28, was a four-star wide receiver coming out of Missouri's Lee Summit High School in 2014. As a senior, Harrison racked up 1,007 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on 60 catches. He committed to Nebraska but never made it to campus, instead signing with the Milwaukee Brewers after getting selected in the second round of the MLB Draft.

Harrison made his MLB debut on Aug. 3, 2020 with the Miami Marlins. He finished his career with a .176 batting average and two home runs.
