Did anyone guess the money would go to Paris for the over the top wedding of a daughter of a man who owned a Mercedes dealership group?

Daily Mail covered parts of the wedding

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-12775187/madelaine-brockway-wedding-paris-opera-house.html

quote:

t turns out, Madelaine hails from a very successful family. Her dad, Bob Brockway, is the chairman and CEO of Ussery Automotive Group, a car company that oversees a series of Mercedes Benz dealerships in Florida.

Ussery Automotive Group made headlines in August for selling two ofT its locations for a total of $150 million profit.

The rehersal dinner

While the price of holding an event at the Paris Opera House is not listed on its website, an event company has estimated that it costs at least $325,000.

Odd troll. I don't remember anyone giving Butch Jones' grief for his daughter's rehearsal dinner at Golden Corral in Powell.

So, a millionaire makes 150 million profit from a sale and and had 3 x other businesses sold the same month for another ~100 million, and he spends 325k on a wedding venue.

It's a drop in the bucket for him. Lavish, yes, but rich people do rich people things.

$325k is nothing if you are worth that much.

I’m shocked that renting the iconic Paris Opera House is THAT cheap. Relatively speaking.

Met a gentleman about 10 years ago when I worked at a high end restaurant whose business was exactly this. He specialized in securing venues like this for people and organizations around the world. He didn’t plan events, he just had the right contacts to quickly secure highly sought after venues that incredibly wealthy people were willing to pay for… Thinking back on it, I would have quit my job on the spot just to work for him.
