Didn't know this existed, of course it begs the question of what is rivalry?
One would assume that it means that there is a fierce competitiveness in the sport between the two schools ie Florida/Jawja, Iron Bowl, Bucknuts/Meatchicken wherein both schools have a semi even record and the game is intense.
However a quick Google search yielded this "rivalry" being in OU's favor 67–24–5 with one game being a 77-0 blowout.
Yikes.
That's just a yearly asswhipping and somehow its called it a rivalry.
Big 12 schools are wild

It's an old Big 8 rivalry that goes back years

They’re old big 8 foes, but the series is very lopsided

I’m sure it is in wrestling.

The Tigers haven't won many but the few they did still
piss off oK losers.
The 10th ranked Tigers knocked off #1 oK in 2010. Game day crowd was largest ever. I was there. Open Kick off returned for a TD and the rout was on.
Best margin of victory? Tigers won 34-0 in 65 and beat oK 4 out the 1st 5 games ever starting back in 1902.
That's the best we got.

Missouri has a “rivalry” with half the country

That's fair, Missouri borders more states than any other in the Union.

who cares
I don’t and OU doesn’t either. It’s mostly Mizzou fans trying to force it. Kinda weird if you ask me.

Most of both teams are from Texas so they know each other.

It was much much more a Big 8 basketball thing than a football thing because, yeah, they frequently whipped Mizzou's arse in football.
But don't believe any OU fans that say they didn't care about it. They are either too young to remember or are lying. There was actual hate involved in those bball games. The old Stormin Norman/Billy Tubbs showdowns were epic.

It was a bigger rivalry in the old days. OU was too dominant and Mizzou was terrible for too many consecutive years starting in the 70s to maintain a high level of mutual interest.

Oklahoma - Missouri series had one of the best trophies among CFB rivals - "the Mystical Seven Society Ceremonial Tomahawk Pipe"
a peace pipe
from 1929 to 1974 the schools exchanged the pipe - until it went missing in 1975 apparently - not coincidentally the Son of a Bootlegger became OU HC two seasons earlier - smart $$$ says Switzer still has it -

Which is interesting since Missouri didn’t have the balls to actually fight the Union.

Oklahoma vs. Missouri football was at its peak in the 1960s.
OU went 5-4-1 that decade and most of the games were tightly contested.
The basketball rivalry was great with Tubbs and Norm... but the entire Big 8 was kind of crazy back then. All the other teams/fans/coaches hated both Tubbs and Norm so no matter who OU or Missouri played in those years it was a crazy environment.
Missouri's Antlers "spirit" group might have been the most notorious and famous/ infamous group of their kind in the history of college basketball.

It may have been for Mizzou, but it was just another game to OU.

Those were fun, weren't they? Good times and Great game! Tubbs and Norm...man they were animated.
