vandy must have rested its starters for bama to win one of these games this weekend.

For the most part, no. The game they won was against Ziomek. Bama played hard and gave them a strong run...

Was down in Nashville today it the 2 Bama pitches that hit back to back Vandy players turned the game. The score looked lopsided but the game was good by both side.

We'll see if Vandy can do something with it. I only say that because the year SC went 25-5 we got bounced in our own Super by ULL.

Y'all definitely have a team that SHOULD win it all

FIFY

Yall seem to have it all, batting .340 as a team nobody in your starting lineup batting under .300. Yall led the SEC in stolen bases have power hitters, and your weekend rotation has 2 MLB starters.

you have to be impressed with the current state of the VU athletic deptartment... winning the 2012 SEC basketball tournament champeionship and this year's baseball title.... also been to the CWS recently, and back to back bowl games in football.

Is it bad that I hope Vandy doesn't win it all so we're not one of two SEC schools to not have a national championship in any of the big 3 sports over the last 50 years?

No there's nothing wrong with this at all ...

BTW Congrats Vandy

How many starting position players & pitchers do you anticipate losing after this season? I think I read somewhere that both your aces are gone, correct? Slam dunk COY award due your HC & am sure some of your players will get POY awards or strong consideration, too. How big is your park? Any thoughts being given to adding on now that your program is well established?

Ziomek is gone for sure as he will be a top 2 rd pick. Tyler Beede (who is 13-0) will be back for his Jr. season being currently a true Soph. Will likely lose Tony Kemp to the draft and Connor Harrell is a Sr. but outside of those guys a few will depend on their draft position (like a Conrad Gregor for example). Really will still be an incredibly stout team next year as VU's back to back #1 recruiting classes become Juniors and Sophomores, the 2013 class will likely be top 5-10 as well.

All 3 of Vandy's starting outfielders are seniors. Tony Kemp is probably gone. Conrad Gregor and Spencer Navin are toss-ups, could go either way. One of the aces Ziomek is gone. The other Beede is only a sophomore. Everyone else will be back.

Hawkins Field only seats 3700 and honestly, I don't think we're ready for expanding it. As a season ticket holder, I was very disappointed in the lack of fan support this team has received in terms of butts in the seats. They deserve much better.

Baseball being baseball that's pretty damn amazing. What'd Vandy have, like 8 weekend sweeps?
