I will maintain that the best visiting fans I've ever encountered were in 2012 against South Carolina.

On top of them being in their Spurrier prime, the game was fricking amazing. All the fans were great. Even hooked up with a Carolina girl that night.

God. 12 years ago. Wish I was still that young.

Stick to the Vista area, which is an area of bars and restaurants off Gervais Street near the State House. Close to the stadium you have J's Corner and The Loose Cockaboose. Hunter-Gatherer at the old Owens Field is a great spot as well.

A very direct and succinct response that accurately answered the OP’s inquiry. Let this post serve as an example to others on this site.

The Blue Marlin used to be the pregame spot.

That game was a blast. My favorite SEC road trip by far. One hell of an environment and LSU fans were great.

Vista is the spot you want to be on Friday/Saturday nights. Plenty of bars/restaurants to choose from. 5 points gets wild at night as well, but it's mostly a college area.

Recommendations for Sports Bars: Thirsty Fellow, Hickory Tavern, Liberty Tap Room, Twin Peaks, Home Team BBQ (This is in 5 points, but it's got a good TV set up).

Recommendations for nicer/expensive dinners in the Vista: Hall's Chophouse, Cola's, Blue Marlin, Black Rooster (Not quite the Vista, but it's on the river and has a cool view of downtown Columbia), Di Vino Rosso, Bourbon, Smoked. All great options.

I didn't know Rick Astley was still active and a Rays fan.
