LSU beat Bama coached by Saban with one of the least talented squads they’ve had that I remember.

Only a few teams have an argument, the rest are just field fillers so ESPN can get more money than they got for bowl games.
If people thought it was crazy at times with people arguing over the 4th spot, wait until they start doing it over the 12th spot.
And the further down you go, the worse it will get.
That's what I liked about the BCS. It wasn't really an argument that you were a "top 12" team, you basically had an argument that you were the team that deserved to be the national champion.
Some years that was 3 teams, so 4 team playoff made sense. You are going to put in undeserving teams, never has a 4th place team really had an argument, but it's better than leaving one out.
There is no reason to go to 12 teams other than ESPN and the networks trying to increase viewership numbers.

Yeah, 3 losses can certainly be described as undeserving.
But, what if you run out of 2 loss teams that actually beat anyone good all season before you make it to 12 teams?

I appreciate his honesty, especially him saying it from his office in Bryant-Denny. A three loss team shouldn’t be in the playoff.
