Not sure it has any place in sports at all. Compete and win. Bragging rights go to the winner until the next meeting.
Now that the Playoffs has expanded, if your Team even loses, you might get another shot at attending a huge game for all the marbles.
I see one loss Teams each year. They used to have no shot once they lost. Your view of competition seems monolithic

It really wasn't a political take if you think about it. It's an observation that your enemies on the Rant are probably pretty close to what you see in the mirror every morning.
I know this. I grew up in the Texas Panhandle and knew lots of people with roots in Oklahoma and Arkansas. Yeah they love their Sooners and Razorbacks. Guess what? At the end of the day, we're still all Americans and we all want the same things with success for our families.

I don't hate anyone. I have known a number of people from various SEC universities and they were all good folks.
Some of their fanbases are approaching insanity, however.
One particular fanbase I have trouble with are The Ohio State people. Their hatred of all things SEC approaches being a mental disorder. Their arrogance becomes a little too much for me.

I hate Alabama the university, the football program, and especially the idiot mouth breathing fans- they're all morons that feel entitled. Tuscaloosa is a shithole. DIAF.
