I look around on different boards and a conclusion I have come to is this - big ten people hate on the SEC all the time. It kind of reminds me of Trump Derangement Syndrome, commonly referred to as TDS. The worst of the bunch, of course, is Ohio St fans. That is a fan base with a lot of pent up anger. They have never lost a game fair and square, the officials always rob them.

Most SEC people tend to ignore the big ten fans, except in retaliation for dumb post like this dude and a few others.
I can't see the SEC ever pulling the football SECCG out of Atlanta.

As soon as they did the ACC would jump on that location and date immediately, with a long term contract.

I am as Southern as a bowl of collard greens and cornbread. I still speak with the voice of someone raised in the rural South. I don't get this about various schools not being "southern enough" to be in the SEC.
Do people not travel outside their own little corner of the world?
I have traveled everywhere and found people to be just that - people.
BTW, my wife is from the Midwest. I have been living with a "Yankee" for decades.

This team at least shows a pulse most of the time. That is an improvement over what had been going on in Athens.

Georgia can not recruit the level of athlete Tenn, Fla and Aub recruit.
I will definitely tune in and see some plays when he is in the game. I always thought the 2024 year would be his last at UGA. I just thought he would declare for the NFL. Going to another school was a surprise.

It had to have been frustrating last year for him seeing drop after drop. I would guess that affected his throwing and may have have been relevant in his throwing picks the way he did. Pressing when he probably should not have been.

The overall offense at UGA this fall is a concern. Are there any playmakers on this team?
To have something like the SEC/ACC basketball challenge, I think it would be great for fans all over.

Make it the first weekend of the season. What a way to start the football season. That would create great ratings for TV. Sounds too appealing so it probably won't ever happen.
I watched that game with Clemson. You people are still complaining about the officiating. There was only one call that could have gone the other way. You people don't understand the rule book.
Personally I wish some other conference was furnishing the officials. If ND wins that game, I don't look for it, you people will be complaining about the officiating 5 years from now.
I don't live there but I have been around these aholes for decades. The fact they finally are competitive with and beat SEC teams has made them completely giddy.

I don't think I have ever pulled for Notre Dame in any kind of sporting event, like never.

It would highly amuse me if ND could pull off the upset Monday night. If that were to happen it will be because of the "cheating referees." If these Ohio clowns would learn the rules of the game it would save them much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Sankey only dealing with Disney on the TV deal has been a mystery to me. Why were other broadcasters excluded? If he has explained this, I must have missed it.

Did you see the Neilson ratings for this past season? Average weekly viewers had eight SEC schools in the top ten. However the SEC TV deal is second fiddle to the big ten in money.
Big ten people never pass up an opportunity to take a shot at the SEC.

I guess I never realized how much it stuck in their craw that the SEC was dominating college football the first two decades of this century.
I remember when Florida blew out Ohio St around the 2007 year I believe.
I know that caused great angst among the Ohio Staters, including Herbie.
It took them a while to move on, not sure they ever got over it.
The portal and NIL, no doubt. The SEC schools will continue to recruit HS talent, sign them but can't keep some after the first one or two years. There goes the depth.

The big ten pukes want to talk about everyone having NIL money. That is true. The SEC can sign them out of HS but can't keep them .
The area we know as the South is being overrun with outsiders. California people are flooding into Tennessee like it is being given away.

With mass media we as a country are much more homogenized than existed when I grew up in the rural South. I still have the voice of someone raised in the rural South. My children and grandchildren were not raised in the rural South and do not have speech patterns of someone that did.

I know people have the right to live where they want to live but I hate to see some aspects of Southern life disappear.

I think this season with ABC has been a rousing success.

Still would like to know how the SEC came out second to the big ten on these TV contracts.
quote:

And here we thought Louisiana was the dumbest state.

Having spent time around Ohio, they will give anyone a run for their money when it comes to dumb asses.

They claim to be big football fans but they only know about Ohio St. They don't really follow college football all that well.

A lot of them don't know the rules of the game. If a call goes against them it was a bad call by the officials. They don't lose games, they were cheated by the officials.

Bucki, I expect your retort but you know I am right.
I believe he was gone before the SECCG got started.
The right coach could do well there. I don't think he is that guy.
That state produces a lot of HS talent.

They will always be a basketball school first, however.

I was thinking the other day - what ever became of that dude? I did not know he went to Nebraska.
I thought he went to jail for burglary or something like that.
You talk about phantom calls by the officials but Herbstreit was calling the penalty before the official ever announced the call, so the officials were not the only ones seeing the infractions.

There were a lot of holding calls against you but that gets back to your O line having trouble keeping Ga's D off of your QB. I did no realize that Ewers was sacked 6 times and there was something like 15 plays that went for negative yards.

The sacks and rushing yards were almost identical to the first game. No doubt Ewers tore up Ga's secondary. Y'all have some very good and very fast receivers.

The TV deal he did with Disney is beyond my comprehension. Why did he let no one else even bid on the games? He would not even talk to CBS, when that contract expired.

Look at the TV ratings for this year. SEC games are drawing big numbers.
