Obviously OU is not better than Alabama or Ohio State since 2000. But they are very much in the discussion with Georgia, LSU, and Clemson.

Ohio State and Lsu are neck and neck during this time period so I'm not sure why Oklahoma would be in the discussion over either one of them.

Ohio State and Lsu both have 3 national titles during this time and interestingly they're the only teams in the discussion who've won natties with multiple different coaches. I would give a slight edge to Ohio State for having more championship game appearances and more conference championships but I could see an argument for either being #2, but they are clearly #2 and #3 behind Bama and it isn't even a discussion. The only discussion is which of those is 2 and which is 3.

Even after Ohio State and Lsu, the teams with multiple national titles are all in front of Oklahoma also.

Oklahoma has been better than almost all those schools since 2000 I would think.

Oklahoma has the same number of CFP wins as Arkansas.

Louisiana State has been pure shite for the last half decade. Put UGA above them and honestly USC as well since that 2004 team was the better team.

Lsu's and Alabama's last national titles are separated by a whole 12 months.

I’d take 2 national titles over 1 regardless of how consistently well Oklahoma has done. You play to win national titles. Not to be consistently good but not great

A lot of people need to read this and understand this.

We got people out here bragging about regular season SEC championships in basketball and winning the Campbells soup bowl in football. It’s embarrassing. If you didn’t win the National Championship, you accomplished jack shiit.

Louisiana State has had 2 non winning seasons and hasn’t won shite since its last NC.

Alabama has won the SEC 3 times and made the playoffs 3 times, winning it once since Louisiana State made the playoff

But yeah, the difference is one season

Still can't believe Jason White barely over threw Kejuan Jones in the end zone late in the 4th qtr to beat Lsu in New Orleans.

2000 is the beginning of the modern era

Not sure that's true.

The move to spread and HUNH offenses was a major shift.

The NIL and transfer portal are certainly a major shift to a new modern era.

But, a ~quarter century of data is a good mark on the wall to look at.

There is no argument to be made that any college football program other than Alabama and POSSIBLY Ohio state has been better than LSU since 2000….Oklahoma has gotten their bell rung each time they tried to step up and take on LSU

Since 2000 LSU has 10 seasons with 4 or more losses

OU has 4 seasons of 4 or more losses
UGA has 8 seasons of 4 or more losses

LSU has had the highest of highs but they are the most inconsistent year in and year out of the top 5/6.

OSU has a far better resume since 2000 and it's not that close. LSU can be 3rd based on national titles, but it's a chasm between 2 and 3 on the list. OSU was better than LSU before they won the last national title honestly

Now do record in the 2000’s without Saban. We have 2 nattys to y’all’s 0. We have 3 conference titles to y’all’s 0. Wanna take a guess at y’all’s record against LSU without Saban in the 2000’s? Without arguably the greatest football coach of all time y’all aren’t close to LSU. You’ll see soon enough. Then all you Gumps can go play in traffic with this tired narrative.

Did you forget we own the head to head record in the 2000’s from y’all as well? How quick you are to forget that 38-24 beat down for the natty in 07.

yah you also been on probation , had two losing seasons and failed to make a bowl game lol …. Try playing for 7 national titles in that span . Not mention OU being up about 20 games over that period I bet lol

LSU hasn't been good enough to earn a chance to play OSU in like 15 of the last 25 seasons.

Do you think LSU would have beaten OSU in any of the past 5 seasons? No one actually thinks the answer is yes

And 2007 was almost 20 years ago dude. The kids in college weren't even alive when the game happened. Nothing "quick to forget" about that

Take away Saban and Alabama is worse than what you tried describing LSU as. 3-8, 7-5, 10-3, 4-9, 6-6, 10-2, 6-7, 7-6, 9-4. That is every season in the 2000’s without Saban. Notice anything? 9 seasons and only 5 with a winning record. LSU is miles and away more consistent than that. LSU has had 1 losing season in the entire 2000’s and that was 6-7. Alabama is barely a .500 team this century without Saban.

Most logical & Objective LSU fans wouid put Ohio State ahead of LSU.

Everyone agrees Bama is #1 and no one else is close.

No one has a better resume than LSU at the #3 spot. 3 National Championships and played for another. If not for a gift mulligan for Bama, we would have had 4 National Championships.

We could have beat yall in 23 considering Mizzou did. What you think and what happens are two different things. No one thought we would win that 2007 game either. Or Florida beating yall in 06 for that matter. So your hypothetical is a non starter.

I placed Ohio state above LSU but correcting for conference strength makes the race quite close….and LSU would have kicked Ohio states arse in 2023 just like Missouri did…a team LSU beat

LSU was favored by 5.5 points. Just stop. That's the year OSU had the shitty white dude at QB between Troy Smith and Terrell Pryor.

Must be that Ohio math. That’s a byproduct of doing that Ohio meth.
