Should be the final realization that Saban is gone. Saban never would’ve lost to OU and Vandy. BUT, even if he had, he had the strings or influence to get Bama in.

Ole Miss and South Carolina "deserved" it more than Alabama, but neither of the teams earned it to make it.

That's probably fair. After the loss to Oklahoma I'm good with it. Also if I was on the committee between Miami, Bama, Ole Miss and USCe, I'd had gone with Ole Miss.

Had LSU played WKU instead of USC, they’d have just as much of a case. LSU is garbage this year. Let that sink in.
Getting blown out by Bama is waaaaay different from losing to Vandy and getting blown out by OU.
Are they better than a few teams who got in? Sure, they’re probably better than Notre Dame and Boise State. So are half the teams in the SEC.

The automatic qualifier rule knocked them out probably. But it sure took pressure off the committee to have to make those decisions.
The system will probably be tweaked each year until they come up with a better plan. It will be up to the perceived weaker conferences to prove they belong starting this year. It should make things more interesting…

As far as deserved goes, it should just be Oregon vs Georgia in the NCG with Georgia having a 2007 LSU type year.
As far as in the top12 and being better than 3 or 4 teams that made it? frick yes.

You can post that score all day long but it doesn’t change that your team is out of the playoffs just as LSU but we beat Vandy and OU sooooo
