It's" kick your dog" week, I no longer have a pet dog, Percy passed late last year, so if you have one, please kick him twice, once for me. Just joking!
Gators kick the mutts, not joking.
Go Gators!!!

Players will begin to make business decisions after this weekend. I look for several to end their seasons to get ready for NFL trials and the portal.

I just posted this is the UGA thread, but it probably makes more sense here.
I think our best chance to keep the roster intact is to get rid of Billy. We are going to lose players regardless, but these guys came here to win. They hate losing more than we do.
Keeping Billy (unless he goes something like 5-0/4-1 to end the season) means the program accepts mediocrity. Plus, we've already had players commenting and liking social media posts calling for a new coach.

If the Gators are blown out this weekend, it is time for UF to pull the trigger, but I don't think it will happen. Maybe a couple blow outs will do it, but they may be content to let the season play out. I have accepted the fact that we will probably have a new roster, top to bottom next season. A good hire will bring in good players and keep some of the ones we have.

When Lagway went down the season was over.
0 chance Warner will win one game as the starting QB at Florida.
That guy has no arm and just unfortunately is not a sunbelt QB much less a SEC caliber QB.
A 3rd string PWO now the starting QB. is not going to be pretty the next 3 weeks and may not even beat FSU
the offense is one deminisional with Warner at QB.
You will see 8 in the box alot the next 4 weeks. Teams will stop the run and make warner beat them which he will not
You can't blame Napier for anything on this not many teams have a capable 3rd string QB
It is so disappointing though

I don’t care that lagway went down. Napier needs to go.

Napier would’ve figured out how to lose that game either way.
Feel bad for everyone involved but Napier isn’t a winner, he needs to go.

Tough outing for the team. Not sure if anyone else was, but I honestly wasn't surprised at how we looked the first couple quarters of the Georgia game before Lagway got injured. With the way we had been playing the last few weeks, it was not surprising and a that's a testament to Napier and coaching staff.
In the grand scheme of things though, we see a lot of improvement, but is that too late? I honestly don't know. Took 3 years to figure it out, but in spite of the recent close losses, I can see Napier and the team improving if left intact. (Still need a few coaching changes though).
With that being said, despite the improvements we are finally seeing, the only reason to bring Napier back next year is if we really think he can be competitive and get to the playoffs. We can argue over whether winning 5-7 games the rest of the year earns him another year, or whether he's snake bitten this year and things would've went differently these last few games. But IMO, if we don't expect Napier to win 10 games next year, we should likely move on. Next year is not the time to be discussing improvements, recruiting wins, etc. It's win 10 games and make the playoffs.
TL,DR: Team improving, a little late but better than never. If we don't realistically envision being a playoff team next year, we should move on from Napier despite the recent perceived progress.

Season is cooked now. Idk what they do with Billy. I think I'd still like to move on but I realize that comes with a lot of pain (mass portal exodus, more suckage next year). What could have been yesterday...what could have been...

Unfortunately, the Lagway injury gives Billy a pass for the rest of the year and buys him one more year.

I'm still holding out hope that the admin look at the health of the program and how dead recruiting is and choose to move on but you're probably right.

There are no moral victories, playing UG close doesn't make up for 2+ years and a record of 15-19. At end of this season in all likelihood his record for 3 years will be 16-22. This is unacceptable. Napier should be fired, better sooner than later. We will take a bloodbath in the portal and the 2025 recruiting class is already falling apart. Unless he is fired soon, the next decade of Gator football will be lost. A good coach will bring in talent and turn it around.

I was glad to see that the Gators had enough pride to not let a traitor to the team beat them.

Any word on prognosis for DJ? Heard on Reddit that injury is not as bad as initially considered.

Napier said "less significant" than originally feared, no time table for return, will know more late this week.
