247 insiders are chirping that we’ll be getting a commit today. Wiltfong hinted at it too and said we’d be very happy with it.

Jamel Johnson is going to be visiting next month according to Davenport. That would be a big flip.

Quincy Rhodes Jr. commits to Arkansas
Quincy Rhodes Jr. commits to Arkansas
quote:
North Little Rock (Ark.) defensive end Quincy Rhodes Jr. has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Rhodes went public with his decision on Tuesday to become the Hogs’ ninth verbal commitment for the Class of 2023.
Rhodes, who played his last two seasons at Jacksonville (Ark.) was offered by Sam Pittman and the Razorbacks after attending prospect day on the Hill in late January. In addition to the Hogs, he held offers from Memphis, Arkansas State and Jackson State. Florida State, Kansas State, TCU, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, California, and Central Arkansas were among the other schools showing notable interest.
The 6-5, 247-pound Rhodes has played tight end and defensive end in high school but is being recruiting to play on defensive coordinator Barry Odom’s side of the ball in Fayetteville. He was recruited by assistant coaches Dowell Loggains and Deke Adams.
Rhodes has yet to receive a 247Sports Composite ranking but has been tabbed as a four-star by at least one of the main recruiting networks. Arkansas’ 2023 class currently ranks third in the nation and second in the SEC.
In addition to Rhodes, Arkansas’ 2023 class also includes a trio of four-star tight ends in Shamar Easter of Ashdown (Ark.), Luke Hasz of Bixby (Okla.), and Jaden Hamm of Eudora (Kan.), three-star defensive end Kaleb James of Mansfield (Texas), three-star linebacker Everett Roussaw of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove, three-star cornerback Dallas Young of Gardendale (Ala.), three-star wide receiver Anthony Evans of Converse (Texas) Judson, and three-star offensive lineman Joey Su'a of Bentonville (Ark.).
So far, the Razorbacks have offered a total of five instate targets for the Class of 2023. The two remaining undecided targets inside the Natural State are Little Rock Parkview running back/linebacker Darien Bennett and El Dorado wide receiver DeAndra Burns.
Arkansas’ 2023 class entered the day ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 2 in the SEC with 106.16 total points in the 247Sports Composite team recruiting rankings.

Rivals is the only site with a ranking for him currently, it is 5.8 grade 4-star.

Rhodes commits to us and 247 promptly rates him a 4*. We’ll call that the Sam Pittman bump.

Arkansas still has a pair of commitments in the 2023 Rivals250, which was updated Tuesday.
Two of the Razorbacks’ three tight end pledges - Luke Hasz and Shamar Easter - are not only on the list, but in the upper half of Rivals’ ranking of the top 250 players in the country for their class.
Hasz, a former Oklahoma commitment who committed to Arkansas last month, moved down three spots to No. 72, but the Bixby, Okla., product is still the third-highest ranked tight end.
Previously the lone in-state prospect in the Rivals250, Easter - who is a standout at Ashdown - slid down 14 spots to No. 114. He is now the seventh-highest ranked tight end, as Ohio State commit Ty Lockwood moved ahead of him.
Joining Easter in the Rivals250 this update is Newport wide receiver Isiah Kendall, who debuts at No. 179. That makes him the eighth-highest ranked player who wasn’t already inside the top 250.
Arkansas has not offered Kendall, but he does have a pair of Power Five offers from Kansas and Pitt, as well as Middle Tennessee State and Florida Atlantic.
A couple of other notable targets in the Rivals250 include Platte County, Mo., defensive end Chandavian Bradley, who made the seventh-largest jump by moving up 61 spots to No. 27, as well as linebacker Karmelo Overton and quarterback Avery Johnson debuting at No. 198 and No. 235, respectively.
Here is a look at several of Arkansas’ other top targets on the list. These are players who have either visited Fayetteville or otherwise expressed interest in the Razorbacks…
No. 27 - DE Chandavian Bradley (+61) - Platte County (Mo.)
No. 37 - DE Kelby Collins (-7) - Gardendale (Ala.)
No. 41 - LB Tackett Curtis (-3) - Many (La.)
No. 86 - RB Trey Holly (+38) - Farmerville (La.) Union Parish
No. 87 - ATH Mikal Harrison-Pilot (-7) - Temple (Texas)
No. 88 - RB Treyaun Webb (-7) - Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian
No. 90 - RB Cedric Baxter (-7) - Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater
No. 118 - OL Charles Jagusah (+33) - Rock Island (Ill.) Alleman
No. 138 - CB Braxton Myers (-4) - Coppell (Texas)
No. 192 - CB Jamel Johnson (-9) - Arlington (Texas) Seguin - Texas commit
No. 198 - LB Karmelo Overton (NEW) - Ozark (Ala.) Carroll
No. 201 - DE Trey Wilson (-8) - Garland (Texas) Lakeview Centennial
No. 205 - DT Markis Deal (-8) - Garland (Texas) Naaman Forest
No. 216 - ATH Micah Tease (-7) - Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington
No. 234 - DT Edric Hill (NEW) - North Kansas City (Mo.)
No. 235 - QB Avery Johnson (NEW) - Maize (Kan.)
No. 246 - OL Connor Stroh (-12) - Frisco (Texas) Wakeland
No. 249 - DE Bai Jobe (NEW) - Norman (Okla.) Community Christian

QUINCY RHODES, EDGE - ARKANSAS COMMIT
ISIAH KENDALL, WR
JOEY SU'A, IOL- ARKANSAS COMMIT
QUINCY RHODES, EDGE - ARKANSAS COMMIT
quote:
While the desired verified data is not yet available on Arkansas commit Quincy Rhodes Jr., we believe enough context to his game and his potential exists to start him as a four-star 90 on 247Sports. Why? At 6-foot-5, 247 pounds, Rhodes owns an excellent frame and he wears his weight in a manner that makes you think he's closer to 220 than 250, which suggests immense growth potential. Nevertheless, Rhodes' functional athleticism shines in a two-point stance, and while he plays off-ball linebacker for North Little Rock (Ark.), a jumbo edge role could be in the cards in the long run. Rhodes also plays tight end and shows promising movement ability and skill at that spot, while his participation in the shot put should see him exceed the 40-foot mark this spring (38-9 in Spring 2021) and provides another layer of athletic context.
ISIAH KENDALL, WR
quote:
The long-term potential is high for Isiah Kendall, an emerging wideout from Newport (Ark.) High School. A tall-framed receiver who can overwhelm smaller high school defensive backs, Kendall's long-striding gait results in a straight-line speed builder in the vertical passing game. Kendall posted an encouraging 100-meter time of 11.08 seconds in Spring 2021, and if he eclipses the coveted 11-second threshold this spring, watch out. Kendall is a three-sport athlete who also plays basketball, which serves him well in contested situations. He debuts as a high three-star 88 on 247Sports and possesses ample upside in the long run.
JOEY SU'A, IOL- ARKANSAS COMMIT
quote:
Joey Su'a, Arkansas' big-bodied offensive line pledge from Bentonville (Ark.) High School, made a noticeable jump on tape in his junior campaign. In the 6-foot-4, 320-pound neighborhood, Su'a showed marked improvement in his suddenness off the ball and lateral mobility. He displays encouraging ability to climb to the second level in the run game with some heavy-handedness upon arrival. He also plays with some nasty that manifests in his block-finishing ability when engaged in a 1-on-1 fight. Su'a, who rises from a low three-star 81 to a strong three-star 86 on 247Sports, played left tackle in 2021, but projects best as an interior O-lineman, the type who can become a tone-setting guard.

EDGE Quincy Rhodes dropped from initial 5.8 grade 4-star on Rivals to 5.7 grade 3-star.
