Arkansas added its 11th verbal commitment for the football recruiting class of 2026 on Thursday when Chanhassen (Minn.) tight end Kade Bush announced in favor of Sam Pittman's Razorbacks.
Bush, 6-4, 220, hails from the same high school that produced one of the greatest Razorbacks in program history, 2014 four-star lineman and four-time Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow of the Detroit Lions. Arkansas tight ends coach Morgan Turner served as the lead recruiter for Bush, whose decision comes just ten days after his initial trip to Fayetteville for an unofficial visit on March 15.
The tight end spoke with 247Sports about why he chose the Hogs in an interview with Allen Trieu.
Bush picked the Razorbacks over other offers from Kansas State, Washington State, Wyoming, Utah State and others. He hasn't yet been rated by 247Sports, but has produced impressive numbers with a 1.38 laser-timed 10-yard dash, a 9'5" broad jump and a 33-inch vertical. He also plays lacrosse and carries a 3.83 GPA in the classroom with three AP classes.
Turner and the Hogs extended their offer to Bush in early February, at which time the Minnesota native had already locked in a scheduled visit for mid-March. Turner has other tight ends lined up to make official visits at Arkansas beginning in late May, including Kai Wesley of Orem (Utah), Jaivion Martin of Pflugerville (Texas), and Colby Simpson of Westlake Village (Calif.).
Bush is expected to lock-in his official visit date with the Hogs very soon, if he hasn't already, and it will most likely fall on one of their big visit weekends in June as in-season officials are almost non-existent in today's game.
Arkansas' 2026 class also features commitments from Gaffney (S.C.) three-star quarterback Jayvon Gilmore, Texarkana (Texas) Liberty-Eylau three-star wide receiver Dequane Prevo, Hot Springs (Ark.) three-star offensive lineman Tucker Young, Rockwall (Texas) cornerback Jack Duckworth, Valdosta (Ga.) three-star cornerback Jalon Copeland Durant (Okla.) four-star edge Colton Yarbrough, Lawton (Okla.) Macarthur three-star safety Adam Austin, San Diego (Calif.) University City three-star safety Tay Lockett, and unranked Fayetteville (Ark.) safety Kyndrick Williams.
The Razorbacks entered the day ranked 11th nationally and fourth in the early SEC recruiting race for 2026.

Arkansas' 2026 class moved back into the top ten nationally on Saturday with the commitment of Valdosta (Ga.) cornerback Jalon Copeland. The 6-1, 185-pound defensive back went public with his decision during a 24-hour unofficial visit in Fayetteville, where he will return May 30 for an official visit.
Copeland, who was offered by the Razorbacks in late January, held more than 40 scholarship options before choosing in favor of the Hogs. His list included Penn State, Nebraska, Illinois, Louisville, Maryland, UCF, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech and many others. A Crystal Ball prediction was placed for Arkansas just days ahead of Copeland's first look at campus.
"I love everything I saw today man, real talk," Copeland said. "It feels like home. Me and my family (met) with Coach Pittman to surprise him."
Copeland, who arrived in NWA Friday evening and began his visit early Saturday morning, was recruited to The Hill by defensive backs coaches Marcus Woodson and Nick Perry. He's expected to play cornerback in Fayetteville but has the body type to transition to Nickel or safety down the line.
According to 247Sports, Copeland is 65th among all cornerbacks nationally, 65th overall in the state of Georgia, and holds a three-star ranking with a score of 87. He is Arkansas' second cornerback addition of the 2026 cycle, joining Jack Duckworth of Rockwall (Texas).
The Razorbacks now have ten commitments for the Class of 2026, including quarterback Jayvon Gilmore of Gaffney (S.C.), wide receiver Dequane Prevo of Texarkana (Texas) Liberty-Eylau, offensive tackle Tucker Young of Hot Springs (Ark.) Lakeside, defensive tackle Ari Slocum of Famerville (La.) Union Parish, edge Colton Yarbrough of Durant (Okla.), cornerback Jack Duckworth of Rockwall (Texas), and three safeties in Kyndrick Williams of Fayetteville, Tay Lockett of San Diego (Calif.) University City, and Adam Auston of Lawton (Okla.) Macarthur.
Arkansas is still in the mix for several other cornerbacks, including scheduled official visitors Xavier Harmon, Raderrion Daniels, and Braylon Edwards. Copeland's commitment brings the Hogs to ninth nationally and third in the SEC. Arkansas finished the 2025 cycle ranked 32nd nationally after finishing 30th in 2024.

Two signees in Arkansas basketball’s 2025 recruiting class were named to the prestigious McDonald’s All-American Game rosters Monday.
Shooting guard Meleek Thomas and point guard Darius Acuff Jr. found their names among the nation’s best players in the class. They’re ranked No. 7 and No. 13 in the nation, respectively, according to Rivals.
The McDonald’s All-American Game will be played on April 1 at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. The two future Razorbacks will be pitted against each other, as Acuff was selected to the East team and Thomas was selected to the West team.
Along with the two signees, one priority target — five-star forward Nate Ament — was also named a McDonald’s All-American. He’ll play alongside Acuff with the East team.
Thomas plays for the City Reaperz in the Overtime Elite system and has put on a show this season. He’s averaging 26.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, and has scored over 30 points six times.
The 6-foot-4, 171-pound scorer was the second and most recent commitment to the Razorbacks, and he went public with his decision on Nov. 11. He chose Arkansas over a Top 5 that included Pittsburgh, UConn, Alabama and Kansas State.
Acuff plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and leads the team in scoring at 21.6 points per game on 42% shooting. He also leads the team in assists at 5.33 per game.
A native of Michigan, Acuff was the first domino to fall in Arkansas' 2025 class. He chose the Hogs on July 26 over offers from Kansas, Michigan, UConn, Alabama and many others.
Arkansas' 2025 class also includes four-star Springdale native Isaiah Sealy, and as mentioned above, head coach John Calipari is still pursuing five-star forward Nate Ament as well as several other targets.

quote:
Darius Acuff, PG, IMG Academy (Fla.)
247Sports ranking: No. 5
Committed to: Arkansas
Analysis: Good luck if you want to try and keep Acuff from getting to his spots on the floor. He is a total pit bull off the dribble who combines speed, power and skill to maneuver around the floor. He is at his best attacking the rim and making plays for others in the paint but has turned into a guy who has to be respected as a jump shooter.
quote:
Nate Ament, PF, Highland School (Va.)
247Sports ranking: No. 5
Committed to: Undecided
Analysis: The top-ranked player in the game who has yet to make a commitment, Ament is a fluid four man with face up game. He can shoot from deep, quite capable off the dribble and is a high-volume rebounder despite his still relatively slight frame. He's been to Louisville, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Texas for official visits and will see Duke and Kansas State soon.
WEST
quote:
Meleek Thomas, SG, Overtime Elite (Ga.)
247Sports ranking: No. 12
Committed to: Arkansas
Analysis: One of the most gifted scorers in the class, Thomas is as potent as they come when the ball is in his hands. He splits double teams, finds creases in just about any defense and is unrelenting when it comes to driving the ball. He shoots the ball just well enough from deep that you can't risk him getting hot from behind the three-point line. He's also a sneaky athlete who can catch defenders slipping at the rim.

Arkansas gained its ninth verbal commitment for the Class of 2026 on Monday when Farmerville (La.) Union Parish defensive lineman Ari Slocum went public with his choice.
The 6-3, 309-pound prospect is a quick addition for the Razorbacks, who extended a scholarship offer on January 11 when Slocum made the 5-hour drive from northern Louisiana. Slocum chose the Hogs over Missouri and Purdue, and by all accounts appears to be a raw talent with big potential, but Arkansas' commitment total can't be overlooked.
The Razorbacks' nine verbal pledges ties Penn State and Boston College for second-most in the country, and it's well ahead of where Sam Pittman's program was a year ago on this date. Arkansas had just four commitments at this point last year and two of them eventually came off the board (running back Jamarion Parker signed with Nebraska and kicker Evan Noel went with Florida in the end).
The other two early commitments for the Hogs included homegrown quarterback Grayson Wilson, and a two-way weapon in Markeylin Batton. Arkansas added a big one in early February when Carius Curne jumped on board, but we all know how that one ended with Curne landing at LSU.
In other words, there seems to be less cloud cover over Pittman's staff this offseason, and I'm not sure that would be the case had Arkansas lost its bowl game to Texas Tech in late December.
No, no one expects this 2026 Razorback class to maintain its position of eighth nationally and fifth in the SEC over the next year. But this is a class that we've pointed to for a while as a potential bounce-back cycle for Pittman and the Hogs, and so far, it appears to be moving in a positive direction.
It's not just the quantity at play, either, as one of Arkansas' commits has yet to receive an evaluation from 247Sports. There's a 247Sports four-star in Colton Yarbrough, an edge from Durant (Okla.) who seems more than locked in with his decision. There's another Composite four-star in Texarkana (Texas) Liberty-Eylau athlete Dequane Prevo.
Gaffney (S.C.) quarterback Jayvon Gilmore is just outside of four-star status, as is Lawton (Okla.) Macarthur safety Adam Auston. Fellow safety Tay Lockett of San Diego (Calif.) University City is another highly-rated three-star with a four-star offer list.
Arkansas also has commitments from three-star offensive lineman Tucker Young of Hot Springs (Ark.) Lakeside, three-star Rockwall (Texas) wide receiver Jack Duckworth, and unranked safety Kyndrick Williams of Fayetteville High.
Who might be next for the Hogs? It's taking the easy route, but this time of year usually belongs to the local guys, which makes instate receiver Blair Irvin III one to watch just up the road in Bentonville. These last two Arkansas commitments - Slocum on Monday and 2027 instate lineman Bradley Sturdivant on Sunday - were both the result of offers that were extended earlier this month, and Irvin would fall in that category, as well.

Class of 2026 Louisiana defensive tackle Ari Slocum has committed to Arkansas, he announced Monday.
The 6-foot-3, 309-pound interior defender visited Fayetteville on Jan. 11 for Junior Day, the same time that Arkansas offered the Union Parish Product. He is currently unrated by Rivals.
Slocum has also received offers from Missouri, Purdue, Houston, Louisiana Tech and others, and he is coming off a visit to the Tigers.
Following Slocum's commitment, the Razorbacks now have nine pledges for their No. 10 ranked class of 2026.

A 6-foot-3, 300-pound tackle and guard, Sturdivant can bench press 320 pounds, squat 455 pounds and runs a 40-yard dash of 5.3 seconds, according to his X bio. Arkansas offered Sturdivant on Jan. 16.
The Sheridan native is the first commitment in the 2027 class for the Razorbacks, who hosted Sturdivant (and many others) over the weekend for Junior Day.

Sheridan (Ark.) Class of 2027 offensive lineman Bradley Sturdivant has committed to the University of Arkansas. Arkansas offered Sturdivant, 6-3, 300, just 10 days ago on Jan. 16, which he called a 'lifelong dream.'
While Sheridan has rarely produced Razorback football players, first-year head coach Kevin Kelly has sent numerous players to The Hill from his time as the Pulaski Academy head coach, including standouts like Remington Award winner Jonathan Luigs and Mackey Award winner Hunter Henry.
"I consider it a great honor to be committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks," Sturdivant told HawgSports. "I love the state of Arkansas and feel so much support. Arkansas has a tremendous athletic and academic program and the best. I have worked hard to get to this point and wouldn't have been able to do it without my family coaches and teammates."
Sturdivant is a member of Prep Redzone's Sophomore All-State team. He played left tackle for the Yellowjackets this past season but could be looked at to play inside for the Hogs, depending on whether or not he continues to get taller.
"Excited to say I'm committed to the Arkansas razorbacks," Sturdivant announced on X Sunday morning.
"A lifelong dream happened just now. I am so excited to be offered a scholarship to play FB for ?@RazorbackFB! So thankful to my teammates & coaches! Time to work harder than ever!" he stated after receiving the offer.
Sturdivant is the first commitment for Arkansas' 2027 recruiting class.

Chaffey College sophomore tight end Jeremiah Beck has committed to Arkansas, he announced Monday.
A 6-foot-4, 240-pound native of California, Beck caught 37 passes for 366 yards and four touchdowns during the 2024 season at the junior college level. He made 40 grabs for 485 yards and three scores in his debut year (2023).
Beck, a two-time First-Team All-Conference performer, originally signed with Nevada but received a release in January. He has also earned offers from New Mexico, Massachusetts, Toledo, Missouri State, Eastern Kentucky and others.
Following Beck's commitment, Arkansas now has six projected players at the tight end position for the 2025 roster.

Arkansas' 2025 signing class rose to 25 additions on Monday when JUCO tight end Jeremiah Beck of Chaffey College announced his next college destination.
Beck, 6-3, 245, initially signed with Nevada but was released of his agreement with the program. The California native was offered by Arkansas last Saturday and plans to officially enroll this week in Fayetteville with three years left to play two seasons. (There has been no official word yet on junior college targets regaining their eligibility from previous seasons.)
Beck was recruited to Arkansas by tight ends coach Morgan Turner, who also landed Texas A&M transfer Jaden Platt and Montana State transfer Rohan Jones via the portal and Gavin Garretson of Chico (Calif.) Pleasant Valley by way of the December signing period for high school and junior college prospects. The Razorbacks are replacing three outgoing transfers in Luke Hasz, Ty Washington, and Var'keyes Gumms.
The junior college target also held offers from Eastern Kentucky, Gardner-Webb, UMASS, Missouri State, New Mexico, Stephen F. Austin, and Toledo. Beck had 851 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns in his first two seasons
The Hogs' current tight end room returns only 35 combined receiving yards and two total touchdowns, which belong to Andreas Paaske and Shamar Easter.
Beck brings the Razorbacks' Class of 2025 to 25 additions, which now include 14 on the offensive side in quarterbacks Grayson Wilson and Madden Iamaleava, running backs Markeylin Batton and Cameron Settles, wide receivers Quentin Murphy, Antonio Jordan, Jace Brown and Ja'kayden Ferguson, Gavin Garretson at tight end, and offensive linemen Lionel Prudhomme, Blake Cherry, Kash Courtney, and Bubba Craig of the JUCO ranks.
Defensively, the Hogs added defensive linemen Kevin Oatis, Caleb Bell, Reginald Vaughn, Keiundre Johnson and Trent Sellers, linebackers Jayden Shelton and Tavion Wallace, and defensive backs Taijh Overton, Nigel Pringle and JUCO product Keshawn Davila. The Razorbacks also signed a kicker in Scott Starzyk.
Arkansas also has 20 new additions from the transfer portal, including 19 that will count against the scholarship total. The Razorbacks is welcoming most of their 2025 signing class - from high school, junior college and the transfer market - to campus this weekend and on Monday.
Only six of the Hogs' 2025 signees will not be joining the program this week, including Batton, Jordan, Prudhomme, Vaughn, Pringle and Sellers.

Jones was named an honorable mention AP FCS All-American for his efforts, which included a three-catch, 19-yard, one-touchdown outing in the FCS Championship game against North Dakota State on Jan. 6.
Before his time at Montana State, Jones played two seasons with the Maine Bears (2022-23). There, he totaled 31 catches for 363 yards and seven touchdowns.
Since entering the transfer portal Wednesday, Jones has reported offers from Arkansas, Wake Forest, Houston, Louisville, UCLA, North Carolina and Kentucky.

Junior Auburn transfer safety Caleb Wooden has signed with Arkansas, the program announced Tuesday.
A 6-foot-1, 192-pound native of Georgia, Wooden totaled 17 tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and two pass breakups in 2024. He started six games and played in 10, according to Pro Football Focus.
PFF also awarded Wooden a 67.6 defensive grade, a 58.7 run defense grade, a 75.3 tackling grade and a 70.7 coverage grade on 305 snaps.
Throughout his three-year career with the Tigers, Wooden has accumulated 41 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, two interceptions and four pass breakups. Wooden received a 76.6 PFF defensive mark in 2023 (218 snaps) and a 64.6 mark in 2022 (68 snaps).
After entering the transfer portal, Wooden reported offers from Texas State, UTEP, Florida Atlantic, North Texas and Washington State, but ultimately landed with the Razorbacks.

Arkansas landed its 19th transfer addition for the 2025 cycle on Tuesday when former Auburn safety Caleb Wooden announced his next destination. Wooden, 6-1, 192, chose the Razorbacks after wrapping up an official visit in Fayetteville (Ark.) last Friday. He has now officially signed with the Hogs.
Wooden, a Lawrenceville (Ga.) native who returned a fumble 74 yards against Arkansas in 2023, was recruited by defensive coordinator Travis Williams and secondary coach Marcus Woodson. He is the Hogs' second safety addition from the transfer portal, joining Eastern Michigan transfer Quentavius Scandrett.
Arkansas also signed the nation's top JUCO cornerback in Keshawn Davila as well as two transfer corners Jordan Young (Cincinnati) and Kani Walker (Oklahoma).
Wooden had 17 tackles, an interception and a pass break-up as a part-time starter at Auburn in 2024 and provides plenty of SEC experience after appearing in 28 career games on The Plains.
"Familiarity with the staff, they're family to us," Wooden said. "That is big for me. I want to have that relationship with my coaches especially in this day and age of NIL and portal. A lot of stuff is not real and the relationship I have with Coach Woodson and T-Will is real."
The year prior, he totaled 15 stops, a pick, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and broke up a pass. In 2022, Wooden posted nine tackles including five solo stops.
He chose the Razorbacks over Derek Mason's Middle Tennessee State program and will have one year of eligibility remaining in Fayetteville. Wooden reached his decision following an enjoyable time on The Hill.
"It was good, I enjoyed myself," he said. "It was good seeing Coach T-Will and Woodson again and everything we talked about.
"It exceeded my expectations. I had something in mind that I thought it was going to be, but it exceeded my expectations."
The Hogs also hosted other transfer targets beginning Friday, in Maryland transfer offensive lineman Marcus Dumervil and Stanford transfer wide receiver Ismail Cisse.

Stanford redshirt sophomore transfer wide receiver Ismael Cisse has signed with Arkansas, the program announced Monday evening.
A 6-foot-0, 200-pound native of Colorado, Cisse caught 26 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns in 2024. His best performance of the season came against Cal poly on Sept. 7, when he grabbed eight passes for 79 yards with a score.
Cisse also notched eight receptions and 49 receiving yards against Syracuse one week later.
According to Pro Football Focus, Cisse finished with a 63.2 offensive grade, a 63.5 pass grade and a 57.2 run-block grade on 381 snaps.
Rated as a three-star prospect in the class of 2023, Cisse earned offers from Stanford, California, Colorado, Colorado State, UNLV, USC and others before landing with the Cardinal.

Arkansas received its 18th addition from the transfer portal Monday evening when Stanford transfer wide receiver Ismael Cisse inked with the Razorbacks. Cisse, 6-1, 200, is a redshirt-freshman who will have three years remaining in Fayetteville.
The Englewood (Colo.) native made his decision known on Monday, two days after wrapping up an official visit on The Hill.
"Because of the family aspect," Cisse said of his decision. "I really love Coach Fouch, just the game plan and what they have, how they want to use me. Definitely for the coaching and the environment, a family feel. That's really what I'm looking forward to developing to get to the next level."
Here's more from Cisse's official visit recap, in which he praised the Hogs' family atmosphere and open competition for playing time in 2025:
"I didn't have any negative views or anything beforehand," Cisse said. "I mean, where Arkansas is, it's a calm little town, calm little environment. So I'm just enjoying it right now. I'm from Colorado, so I'm used to the atmosphere."
The Razorbacks have an interesting situation at receiver, where there will need to be multiple departures at some point as they're still way over the usual target number of 11-12 total scholarship players. The Hogs have already added four to the room, and Cisse sees the open jobs as an opportunity to play in the nation's toughest league.
"For sure, it does," he said. "Obviously it's SEC ball so it's a level up from where I was previously at. Not better, but sometimes more competition, I'll put it (that way). So, that's always fun, SEC ball. I don't feel pressure. I'm ready to go whenever."
While Cisse's first-year stat line likely won't blow anyone away, it's hard not to be impressed by his 550-pound squat as a 200-pound athlete.
"They're kind of a little surprised coming from a receiver, but I know the power really comes from the legs, so just have to make sure I'm strong in that aspect," Cisse said. "I'm hard to tackle, so that's a big plus in my game. I just like to get the ball in my hands and do what I can do. Squatting 550 allows me to do more on the field than people think."
Wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch is credited with landing Cisse, but his assistant coach, Dylan Cruz, is a former Stanford employee who provided help, too.
Arkansas having former Stanford assistant Dylan Cruz on staff as an analyst also helps the Hogs in some capacity.
"It definitely does, I already knew him previously, too," Cisse said. "Coming up here and meeting him again, having somebody that I already know, it's definitely a plus."

He started three games for the Terrapins this season and played at least 20 snaps in seven contests.
Dumervil also played at Maryland during the 2023 campaign, but spent three years at LSU (2020-22) before that. The Florida native was a four-star prospect out of high school and originally chose the Tigers over LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and others.

Arkansas has added four transfer offensive linemen from the portal, so far, but Eric Mateos and the Razorbacks are still seeking more help up front. Arkansas has landed its 17th addition from the transfer portal after receiving a commitment from Maryland transfer offensive lineman Marcus Dumervil on Saturday. Dumervil, 6-5, 310, went public with his decision after wrapping up an official visit in Fayetteville.
"It's a place to come in and compete, play top-notch talent every week," Dumervil said of his decision. "Big-time program, big-time school and big-time coaches."
The Hogs hosted a few official visitors this week as the NCAA allowed midyear transfers to start taking visits again on January 1.
"I feel like the visit is great, feels great to be down here in Fayetteville," Dumervil said. "Coach Pittman and the rest of his staff is magnificent. It feels great out here, the weather's not too bad, not too cold. Not yet. But everything has been going great and I'm really enjoying my stay."
"The highlight honestly is, you know, I played against Arkansas on the away side, so being able to see the home side of Arkansas and what Fayetteville has to offer has really been a highlight of the trip."
Dumervil, a former Top247 four-star recruit who signed with LSU out of Florida in 2020. He played in 16 career games in three years with the Tigers before moving on to Maryland, where he played in 14 more games with 10 starts this season.
"I would say just seeing the facilities and interacting with the coaches (was the visit highlight)," Dumervil said. "It's really a family atmosphere here, the facilities are second to none, so it's really a gem in the middle of nowhere honestly."
Dumervil, the nephew of former NFL defensive back Elvis Dumervil, who played for Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino, had another trip lined up to UNLV after Fayetteville but will no longer take it following his commitment.
A decision came soon after Dumervil had stated he didn't plan to announce anything soon.

Replacement player skill value ($$) was on display in that bowl exhibition.
Skill players are abundant and I'm not saying they shouldn't get paid but our money should be going to depth on the lines of scrimmage and then a few elite spots elsewhere.
I'm also aware it wasn't a SEC team or roster we faced.

Good luck figuring out so many baffling decisions made regarding playing time under this staff.

It's how the season has gone.
Not disclipined or well coached team - leading the nation in turnovers from fumbles, Green makes momentum changing negative decisions when Arkansas has the momentum and can't navigate/game manage - some of that is on Petrino formations and game calling but he does things a QB simply can't do time and time again.

The City of Palms Classic is a six-day tournament, and showcase, featuring some of the top high school teams and prospects in the country. Now in its 51st year, the event is always a highlight of a busy week of holiday events just before Christmas.
All of the talk going into this year's event was about whether or not Darryn Peterson had leapfrogged Cameron Boozer to become one of the two best prospects in the national senior class of 2025. Boozer responded, as he seemingly always does, with a championship, as he and his Columbus High School squad took Monday night's championship with a win over Montverde.
Boozer went for 14 points and 7 rebounds in the final after putting up 22 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks in a 77-71 win over IMG in the semifinals, in a game in which Darius Acuff had 27 points and 8 assists. When it was all said and done, Boozer and Acuff shared the tournament MVP honors.
In there lies one of the biggest takeaways of the week – while we debate the order of Dybantsa, Boozer, and Peterson, it is becoming abundantly clear that any conversation about the best high school basketball player in the country, is incomplete unless Darius Acuff is included. Through four games in Fort Myers, Acuff averaged 32 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and just 1 turnover per game on 52% shooting from the floor, 44% shooting from three, and 76% from the free-throw line.
Beyond the sheer number, it was his second half heroics that led IMG to comeback wins over Faith Family Academy and La Lumiere in the opening two rounds of the event. He put the team on his back, made huge shots in various moments, and did it from different spots on the floor. Beyond that, he looks great physically, powerful and exceptionally fit. He's more engaged defensively than we've seen him previously. Offensively, while he's scoring the ball with efficiency and volume alike, he's also trusting his teammates more, passing out of double-teams, and simultaneously taking exceptional care of the basketball.
This wasn't just a good week either. Two weeks earlier, at the National High School Hoops Festival, it was almost an identical story. Acuff went for 27 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds against Paul VI. IMG actually lost that game, but that was largely because Acuff fouled out with two minutes left and the Ascenders. That event featured three of the top five ranked point guards in the country, and it was clear coming out of it that Acuff was in a class all by himself.
With four evaluations now in the books this week, Acuff has taken it a step further and shown he's been as consistently dominant as any high school player in the country this year.
So let's be clear, Peterson has had a terrific start to his senior season at Prolific Prep, going on the road and delivering huge performances against both Dybantsa and Boozer. He may very well play his way into the top two, but this isn't a conversation with just three players in it. Acuff has been as good as anyone to start the year and made it clear that he belongs in any conversation about who the top high school basketball player in the country is. More than that, the Arkansas pledge looks fully prepared to be the next great guard to play for John Calipari.

Arkansas added a 16th addition from the transfer portal on Christmas Day when former Missouri wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield went public with his signing to the Razorbacks. Crutchfield, 6-1, 185, is a true freshman and former four-star recruit from Pine Bluff (Ark.) who redshirted in his first season with the Tigers. He entered the portal at the end of Mizzou's 9-3 regular season.
Crutchfield finished as a borderline five-star prospect in the Class of 2024, ranking 43rd nationally overall, No. 10 among all wide receivers and second in the state of Arkansas. He is the fourth wide receiver addition from the portal for wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch, joining UAB transfer Kam Shanks, Charlotte transfer O'Mega Blake, and Fresno State transfer Raylen Sharpe.
UPDATE: Crutchfield has officially signed with Arkansas
Arkansas entered the day ranked 15th nationally and eighth in the SEC team transfer rankings.
Hudson Standish gave Crutchfield a glowing review as a prospect last fall, comparing him to NFL standout CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys:
"One of the top prospects from the state of Arkansas in the modern recruiting era. An explosive three-level playmaker with a propensity for jaw-dropping highlight-reel moments. A true "even when he's covered, he's open" receiver who can use his 6-foot-2 frame and top-tier leaping skills to bully defensive backs at the catch point or glide past defenders with his smooth long-striding gait. Locates the ball in the air at a high level and has a knack for making acrobatic body adjustments at the last moment to secure difficult catches. Plucks the ball out of the air with good arm extension. Will need to become a more efficient and nuanced route runner to beat similarly athletic defenders in the SEC. Well-rounded skill set should allow him to move around the offense to hunt matchups outside or in the slot. Combination of extremely productive two-way snaps and an elite multi-sport athletic profile offer significant long-term NFL upside."
Arkansas now has 16 transfer additions including Crutchfield, wide receiver Raylen Sharpe (Fresno State), Kam Shanks (UAB), O'Mega Blake (Charlotte), running back Mike Washington (New Mexico State), tight end Jaden Platt (Texas A&M), offensive linemen JacQawn McRoy (Oregon), Kavion Broussard (Ole Miss), Corey Robinson (Georgia Tech) and Caden Kitler (UCF), defensive linemen Ken Talley (Michigan State), David Oke (Abilene Christian) and Justus Boone (Florida), and defensive backs Jordan Young (Cincinnati), Quentavius Scandrett (Eastern Michigan) and Kani Walker (Oklahoma).

Arkansas landed one of its top remaining portal targets (VIP) Tuesday when Charlotte transfer wide receiver O'Mega Blake signed with the Razorbacks. Blake chose wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch and the Hogs over South Carolina, where he spent his first three seasons from 2021-23, and the Florida State Seminoles, where he visited last week before checking out Fayetteville (Ark.).
Texas A&M, Wisconsin and others also offered the 6-2, 180-pound South Carolina native.
Blake had a breakout season as a redshirt-junior in 2024, recording 32 receptions for 795 yards and 9 touchdowns while averaging 24.84 yards per reception, which ranks second nationally in the NCAA.
Blake posted just five catches for 53 yards and a touchdown in the first four weeks of the season, then averaged 92.75 per contest while scoring eight times in eight games. Blake recorded 19 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns in 2023 with Carolina, which included a five-catch, 86-yard performance against Georgia in Week 3.
He is considered the No. 110 overall prospect in the transfer portal and 27th among all wide receivers with an overall grade of 89, making him a borderline four-star per 247Sports. As a high school prospect, Blake was graded at 87 and was tabbed the fifth-best player in South Carolina for the Class of 2021.
The Rock Hill (S.C.) native joins a transfer receiving class that already features two in Raylen Sharpe (Fresno State) and Kam Shanks (UAB). Fouch and the Razorbacks are still in contention for Missouri transfer receiver Courtney Crutchfield, who chose the Tigers over the Hogs as a four-star recruit from Pine Bluff (Ark.) in last year's recruiting cycle.
Arkansas now has 14 total new additions from the transfer portal. It entered the day ranked 16th nationally in the team transfer rankings, though five of the newcomers have yet to be rated by 247Sports.
