Completely agree. For better or for worse, I've seen the Razorback name thrown around over the last couple of weeks more than it has in a long time.
I'd mentioned it in a different thread, but regardless of how far Cal ultimately takes us, he's setting up a heck of a foundation for the program for when he presumably retires within the next 5 years. The Arkansas basketball brand is exploding with all the attention from NBA players, the prime-time games on Thanksgiving, etc. We'll have a shite-ton of money at our disposal and will be one of the top jobs in the country when we do go looking for our next coach.
So if you hate Cal's coaching, just hang in there for another 3 or 4 years :lol:

Eh, it's not like we gave the guy a lifetime contract. He'll be retired in 3-4 years, will have Arkansas established as a national brand, and will leave us in a solid position to make a big name hire with our next coach.
Hell of a better hire than Jerome Tang or whoever else we would have ended up with otherwise.

He definitely had a handful of games where he flashed that sort of ability. He combined for over 50 points between the Bama and LSU games back to back and I thought the light had come on. He was taking some mid-range shots, finding a way to get to the basket, etc.
A lot of it probably had to do with the fact that his 3 point shot stopped falling, so teams really didn't have to respect it like they did early in the season. Over his last 11 games, he was 6/34 from 3 and was 2/16 since March 1st. No bueno.

I've not given up on him yet, but if he can't past the point where him playing is continent on the match-up then I wouldn't mind replacing him with someone that can play every day.

Eh, not as effective. Last night doesn't even make my top 10 most painful Arkansas losses of the last 10-15 years. It sucks, but it is what it is.

He had a couple of boards and a block, but that's it. He's got to get much stronger over the off-season because he's borderline unplayable against big men with any sort of low post game right now. He also couldn't make a 3 to save his life over the last month of the season, doesn't have the strength to bang down low, and doesn't have the handles to pump fake and put the ball on the floor when his 3 isn't going down...so not a great combination of factors.
He's got sky-high potential, but we'll see if he can put it together.

We can throw all this talk about adjusting transfer portal rules out the window. The NCAA already settled an anti-trust lawsuit for $2.8 billion and one of the stipulations is that they would no longer regulate the transfer portal, so they cannot do this.
Contracts are the only real way out at this point, barring the settlement getting thrown out.
