If the Vols take 2 out of 3 this weekend are they number 1?

maybe, maybe not, but Arkansas easily has the best resume right now. 26-5 record with the 2nd most difficult schedule based on the RPI. Swept through the state farm, swept MS State, and just beat Ole Miss 2/3 on the road. I don't think there's a team in the country without any holes.

It's possible, but I can't anyone dropping Arkansas with who they've beaten already unless they have a bad week.

Only if Arkansas loses the series at home vs Aggy.

In short, no. Vols won't be #1.

Ouch. I think that is more of an indictment on Georgia than it is Vandy.

State and Vandy will end up being the 2 teams best built for the tourney. We have a deep bullpen to make a run. Bats have been our issue but those look to be improving a lot. If we can get our batting average top 5 in conference than we will be very hard to beat.
Arky, State, OM, Vandy, Tennessee are going to beat up on each other but are far and away better than the rest of the conference.

If Georgia is legit they should at minimum take 2/3 against U.K. this weekend.

Based on the #s Vandy is by far the most complete team. Tennessee does everything well as well. MSU (power & fielding), Ole Miss (not enough pitching), & Arkansas (not enough pitching) all have holes and don't do

Well State and OM didn’t beat up on Hogs.
We don’t play Vandy and TN won’t take 2/3 from Hogs
Now the rest of y’all scrubs may beat up each other

The bats would though. And sometimes that's just baseball
Starting pitching becomes much more important in Omaha, though. Hopefully we can figure it out, because while I agree with Colby, I also think our staff has more potential than it has had since 2018.
This has been a weird season for Arkansas. We played great early and got lucky to move up quickly. Then we just kept winning and now have the most impressive resume. We have 13 different players with homeruns and lead the nation in homeruns as a team, so our bats are deep and legit.
But along with suspect pitching, it just feels like we've been lucky, although part of that is confidence and winning expectations. I'm not sure if I feel better or worse with this team, compared to 2018, when I thought we could win it all. It'll all come down to pitching and how much it improves the rest of the season, imo.

Vandy is far from a complete team. They're near the bottom of the league in fielding percentage and have the second most errors in the league in SEC play. They also have a 3.00 ERA so far in SEC play and have likely played some of the weakest competition(every team they have played so far is in the bottom half of league in BA) in league play compared to the other top 10 SEC teams.

Is this adjusted with competition though?

Florida is 6-6 in league play with a 21-11 record compared to 5-7/20-11 for UGA
But sure, that one extra conference win is the only difference between unranked and #15

If it was, that point would have never been brought up. Vandy may very well be the best team in the country, but our resume dwarfs theirs. By a lot.

Baseball voters are slow to give up on teams they projected high. UGA looks like they're putting it together.
