Anyone who follows the basketball program closely, is there any chance that Mark Fox is back next year?

There's always a chance. Doubt it though.

Tim for a change, so I’m optimistic for the future. We should be relieved Fox’s tenure is coming to an end.

Fox is gone... new coach with some young talent... gonna be a long 2 years...

Or it's going to be longer 15 years like after Harrick.

The fact that you thought about what you just said and you some how tried to compare Fox to Harrick makes you one stupid mother fricker... Fox is AND WILL NEVER be a coach on Harrick’s level... don’t ever mention the 2 in the same sentence again...

If the new coach can bring Hagans back into the fold I think we could be alright next year. Need some of the young kids to step up but Hightower, Hammonds, and Claxton all showed the ability to be solid SEC players. We could really use a grad transfer SG/SF who can shoot the 3.

Whoever we get might suck, we could very well be wandering in the wilderness for a decade, but we'll be accomplishing exactly as much as we are right now. Zero.
At least show me you care and want a better program. At least TRY to improve and take some risks. Keeping Fox at this point would be telling the fans that you're ok with never improving.

One of the most exciting things to me (among many) about a competent coach is that we'll actually play our best players that give us the best chance to win. No more edwards, kessler, or wilridges soakign up minutes. And although our roster isn't going toe to toe with UK or anything (on paper I mean) it's still got some solid pieces. Hightower/turtle, crump/maybe harris? at the guard spots, Hammonds, clax, ogbeide is a nice lineup. Add in a 4* fringe top 100 player at forward. One thing we truly and obviously lack is a dynamite guard which Hagans would be and then some. If the new coach can convince him to come back (and he reclassifies) we will have quite a formidable starting 5.

Maybe I’m out of the loop, but I’m not sure teams are going to fire stable coaches from stable programs right now. The FBI prosecutor has stuck his career way too far on the line to not harvest bigger fruit. There’s more to come. He’s just rattled the bushes so far...

The fact that you cannot even read let's me know you are a stupid mother fricker. I never compared Fox to Harrick in any way, shape, or form. I said, it's been a long 15 years after Harrick. Most of those are under coach Fox. All I was saying is that it could be 2 years or it could just be adding to the 15 years or so since we've been competitive. That's all I was saying, you dumb piece of shite.

Some people out there saying we turned down the NIT fwiw

Would honestly piss me off if we did simply because Yante should be allowed to play at UGA for as long as he is able.
Posted on 3/11/18 at 2:19 pm to tylerdurden24
apparently the players voted not to go
Posted on 3/11/18 at 2:25 pm to WG_Dawg
I can understand that I guess. I think the games start next week and a few of the guys (including Yante) are banged up physically and everybody is probably drained mentally. Might be best just to move on.

I can respect it being the players' decision but, man, this should not be how Yante Maten ends his career at UGA. Really, really sad

Completely agree. Really surprised by this and kind of disappointed.
