I agree. Dude has had his name out there for every open position under the sun these last four years or so. Interviewed for a job or two also, if I member.
Wish he wouldn't leave though. The coaching talent is dwindling rapidly in the SEC.

I think he should stay. Nobody will treat him like MSU treats him
This is the TRUTH!
HE goes 8-5 at State fans love him but if he does that at Tennessee, Florida, or A&M fans want him gone.
He's in a great place making $4.25 Mil in a city where that money goes a lot further than it would in Knoxville or Gainesville in terms of cost of living and home value.

Good coach, but so overrated.
He's not doing anything Jackie Sherrill didn't do.
Did Jackie Sherrill ever reach Number 1 in the nation?
Did Jackie Sherrill ever dominate Ole Miss the way Mullen has?
Did Jackie Sherrill ever develop and produce NFL QBs?
Did Jackie Sherrill ever have an exciting fun to watch offense?

Lol, yall haven't accomplished a damn thing with dan mullen either. It's pretty obvious that you're program isn't used to any real success by the way your fans act after 1 win over LSU. So if yall end up going 9-3 or 8-4 this year, that's are great accomplishment by Dan at miss st. Bigtime programs with more potential will come calling and Dan will be gone.

and you guys accomplished a bunch under Les Miles then fired him only to hire Ed O.

Plot twist. His star still isn't bright enough for an A&M offer. He's stuck at MSU several more years before he gets in trouble with the NCAA when they have an Ole Miss like year recruiting.

One win over LSU? Didn't they beat you guys last year too?

Wth is with all this Mullen talk. We're three games into the season. He's never accomplished anything as a head coach. He beat a shitty LSU team.
What is hell is going on?

nope, nope, and nope. Surely you remember Houston Nutt being rumored for every job out there while at Arkansas. Everybody knew being Boss Hog was Nutt's dream job, so he and Jimmy Sexton (oddly enough, Mullens agent) got Nutt's name in every vacancy reported. Hell, Nutt was practically on the plane to Nebraska at one time
It's all posturing for leverage. If or when Mullen leaves, you won't know anything about it until he's sitting at a presser wearing a new tie and hat

He did have 2 teams finish (not just reach) #2 overall. He also won multiple conference titles, several 10 win seasons, and a handful of top 10 finishes. Jackie was far superior to Mullen.

His team has fallen apart, his coach, AD and university president are all terrible, and he's up in the middle of every thread about Mississippi State spouting garbage.

Dan vs the Kang would be a great case study of the two programs if Mullen to A&M does end up happening

Well, I hope for y'all's sake you're right. I like Mullen and MSU.

People are scared of MSU. You should be too. We are taking over. I've tried to tell all of you that it is coming. The stars have aligned brother. Dan Mullen can see this and that is why he isn't gonna go anywhere. The foundation of the dynasty has been built. There is still work to do, but the momentum is skrong.

Wins over lsu are not that significant for MSU. 2 of the past 4 seasons have been blowouts, a clock mgt snafu in 2015, and a close game in 2016. Sure, Mullen may leave, but I've been hearing that for 8 years.

And Wal-Marts around the state are selling out of t-shirts. We're the new Bama.

He's got the potential to capture the big dream where he is now. It's obviously a work in process and not built in a day, but he is moving the program that direction.
No, he's not. He's taking advantage of a weak SEC. When Moo State is the second- or third-best team in the conference, it means the rest of the league is down. Florida (which has lost two SEC title games by large margins), Auburn, LSU and Tennessee all can't get out of their own way right now. Georgia has a second-year coach and we still don't know whether the Bulldogs are good right now. That's five of the big six in a spot well below their capabilities.
Give Moo State credit. It's taken advantage of the missteps of the conference's best programs. But when those programs have it going right, Moo State can't stay on the field with them. At best, Moo State should be no better than fourth in the West every year. It's better than that right now because Auburn and LSU have coaches in place who are killing the programs.
