Awful news. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Dang that sucks. Hopefully they caught it time to treat it quickly.

Cancer can affect anyone and I don't think you're gonna get an "fake" sympathy from people on this.

Well, yeah, because every man will get it if he lives long enough.

You are just the absolute worst for even thinking this, much less posting it.

Prayers to him and his family. Sad news. Hope it's early and all will be well.

Says he has been through the treatment, and now has a clean bill of health.

I love this thread. There are many (too many) like this, where a player or coach is facing a tough injury or illness....and the posters are pretty awesome.
I love that and appreciate it.

Damn, that sucks. I wonder how this will effect his ability to coach this year?
Fortunately, prostate cancer isn't as aggressive as some of the others. My Chief had his treated and didn't miss a day of work.

Prayers sent. We are family in the SEC.

My father had it and thank God he is now completely cancer free. He had his prostate removed which is what I would recommend for all men who get it. Radiation damages the tissue and makes surgical removal at a later date impossible.

according to the AMA, and my urologist told me the same thing, if you are male, and you live a long life (90-100) you WILL get prostate cancer....some older men have lived a very long time with it, without treatment, other than taking female hormones at various intervals....cam will have surgery, go home the next morning, wear a catheter for a week, wear a diaper for a while, and keep right on coaching after 2-3 weeks....all of this is assuming that it was caught early and has not spread to the lymph nodes....he should do fine

I would normally say "Prayers" semi-sarcastically, but with something like cancer I really mean it. There aren't many things that pretty much everyone can agree about, but one of them is "frick cancer."
