Cooler heads will prevail at the DNC and they'll push a perceived moderate in 2028. My guess is that it will be a governor that hasn't been in the news much nationally making an arse of themselves.

The 4 biggest items in the federal budget are social security, Medicare, defense, and debt servicing. Unless we significantly cut some of that, everything else is just rounding errors for the most part. We can't balance the budget just by cutting discretionary spending.

International trade is not the backbone of our wealth. It's a very small part of our GDP. And, if the charts above are correct, we're running over a trillion dollar annual trade deficit. Getting that under control might cause some short-term pain, but it will be worth it in the long run.

Didn't have one. My friend group didn't mess with anyone, but we were mostly football players, so no one messed with us either. 8th grade was good.

Yes. And I know that the great maritime empires were built on trade. The issue isn't that we've been trading. The issue is that we sacrificed our market to outside goods in exchange for a strategic alliance that's no longer useful or necessary. We're still going to trade, we just need to make it more balanced and fair.

I don't see what your question has to do with my statement. How can we have high labor costs AND still sell those products cheaply? Plus, if we have a strong dollar relative to the world's other currencies, then our products can't be competitive globally.
