Steg is getting a new hanging scoreboard. It'll actually look like a basketball arena (kinda)

But McGarity offers summary that the IPF will be near the Butts-Mehre building
McGarity: "We're going to focus on an area within our complex here."
"The wheels are turning very quickly. We've got a number of people engaged in this effort. So we're excited about the progress, and appreciate the input from the board today."
"possibly ask for some other action items" at the UGAAA meeting in May.

That boxy thing we currently have is extremely outdated, nonfunctional, and a waste of space.

Seth Emerson ?@SethEmerson 1m1 minute ago It's going to be expensive. A.D. Greg McGarity said the proposed cost of the indoor facility will be "in the ballpark" of $30 million.
Lot more than the 12 that was being rumored.

May is scheduled for renderings/models/marketing material for fundraising, unless someone just writes a check. We aren't deviating from the schedule in our original bid documents from last October.
I know amp hates for me to post about the IPF , but there were never going to be renderings this meeting. There are no drawings. We will not allow CCC to put anything to paper but the site study for now in fear of open records requests. I posted two months ago there won't be any drawings until May. Then fundraising period then maybe a vote approving construction.
Look at the next step we will be further than we've been the first two attempts. That's good. But guys have to realize that construction of an IPF hasn't even been approved. That may come in September.
The site study should leak with some requests ASAP and we've got to get some Ducks in a row to make the site work, but we will be methodical and the schedule is the schedule.

The site they are focusing on is indeed the area near Stegeman Coliseum across from the current practice fields in the Hoke Smith Annex area. It could extend the Butts-Mehre side of the street.
-- Cost is in the "ballpark" of $30 million and "way" more than $15 million, McGarity said,
-- There are renderings, but UGA is choosing to keep those away from open records requests at this moment.
