This was shared on the poli-board also. Rowe nails it.

Does that happen in the book?

Nope. Shireen and her mother stay at Castle Black.

Yep, I watched the episode today and it's pretty obvious the writers are just going for shock & awe at this point. But I have to say that other than the herp/derp with Shireen, I enjoyed the rest of the episode. They telegraphed the sacrifice and at least they didn't show the actual burning; the scene and the screams were brutal though. I was hoping that R'hllor would reject the sacrifice since Shireen had greyscale and take Stannis instead.

re: Why can't Saban evaluate qb's

Considering Saban has won 4 NC's, 1 at LSU and 3 at Alabama, I think it's reasonable to suggest that his QB's have for the most part filled their roles on their respective team. When you have a superior OL and solid RB's, you don't need an outstanding QB as much as a game manager who takes care of the ball. Although it is a bit surprising that Bama hasn't had a real pro prospect at QB under Saban. I conclude that both smart and talented QB's are pretty hard to come by.

So true but he's more like this:

The video was money but I have to say it was a bit of a let down after seeing your gif. The white walkers should be broken out in a break-dance.

Not really. Richt and Bobo have taken some pretty average athletes and made exceptional college QB's out of them. Stafford was really the only pro level QB that Richt has had over the years.

The Johnson kid. Marshall was a better threat with his legs and a good passer so he's probably a better fit for Gus' system. The new kid is big and has a great arm but isn't very dynamic as a runner so he doesn't pose the same threat in the option. I bet Richt would do great things with him.

Probably true; Johnson seems better suited to Richt's offense than Malzahn's. I really wish we could get one of these huge athletic QB's that seem to do so well at other schools. Someone like Johnson would be killer in Richt's offense.

and is a much better passer than Nick Marshall

I've seen a lot of people saying this, and it may well be true, but why didn't he start last year?

Marshall obviously had more experience and is much faster and the better runner which definitely enhances Gus's option offense. This is why they might well have a more pass oriented offense this season. Still, Johnson at 6'5" and 240lbs will be a punishing runner when he gets some blocking. The key for Auburn might well be their OL play rather than their apparent lack of quality RB's; there are many adequate RB's who can run behind a road grading OL.

The good news for Auburn is QB, Jeremy Johnson, could be the next Cam Newton at 6'5" 240lbs. He played in 6 games in 2013 and 7 games in 2014 so he has solid experience and is a much better passer than Nick Marshall. My guess Auburn will be more of a passing team this season give Johnson the option to pass or run on many plays.
I enjoyed John Carter but Tomorrowland doesn't sound like something I would be interested in.

The findings aren't really surprising as a UGA alumnus. UGA is the largest university in the state of Georgia and our state is the hub of the Southeast region. Richt is a respected coach and person and has created a very positive image of UGA.

So let's say that Valyria is analogous to the Roman Empire. I just looked up the dates on AWOIAF. It's been about 400 years since the fall of Valyria. So that puts us right in the middle of the European dark ages. The timeline is probably not coincidentally all that different than the European timeline.

Pretty much this.
I wish my wife could have attended. She definitely would benefit from some Football 101.
When you compare a book to a movie, there's a pretty high probability for disappointment. It's difficult to do but honestly you have to some extent check your expectations at the door if for no other reason than it's 2 completely different forms of media that often don't translate well.
