re: LSU fans, if you could choose today between Saban and Miles, who'd you hire?

Miles. He is so much more "real". Seriously, besides winning a bunch of games, what will Saban be remembered for? In a few decades, what funny and great stories with smiling eyes will Alabama fans tell to their children about him? Miles adds color, life, and human legacy to LSU. Saban adds wins and a incessant "who farted?" face. He is boring, aloof, and way too serious. You can keep all your wins. I'll take stiff dew, grass eating, and a man who sounds like Bo Schembechler any day. Miles puts a human face of lovable toughness and memories on his program. Saban? Well, he treats his job like a cubicle worker treats his. Cold, boring, rude, and fake. In twenty years, there will be smiling eyes of older LSU fans telling stories about their guy Les. Over in Tuscaloosa, well.... that's another story.
Awesome!!

Miles. Saban took all the fun out of being a fan.

If asked this in 2010, it would have easily been Saban. However, I love the direction Miles is headed in as a HC. He's delegating more to some great coach hire's he's made recently, namely Cam Cameron. He's recruiting at an extremely high level which is helping maintain LSU at a high level despite huge early turnover to the NFL.
Les has developed into a keeper for life imo.

So, the LSU fans who pick Miles...do y'all think less of the LSU fans who picked Saban? It seems that way when reviewing the posts in this thread...
Not at all. It's a tough choice.

Just what Bama fans want to hear.

There's a good chance that a day will come when LSU fans will claim that Miles made Saban quit.

They'll never admit it, but deep down they know LSU/Miles are their biggest threat.
All Les needs to do is end the current slide to the gumps, and I could see him reeling off a few in a row himself.

First he would have to break the streak of losing to him 3 times in a row before your Bizarroworld would ever happen.

2-2-3-3... And that would be the end of Saban!

I hope someone asks Saban after the game Sat who the starting QB will be next week

Each coach represents their prospective states well.
Louisiana = joie de vivre, you name it, there is a festival for it. 5 of the happiest cities in America are in Louisiana.
Alabama = a state void of any real character or culture. Their pseudo-culture is Alabama football. Sad but true. (excluding the very small area known as the Alabama gulf coast)

Saban, Pelini, and Fisher. Now Miles, Chavis, and Cameron. The first one probably, but both are incredibly stacked. We know how to build a coaching staff at LSU.

Pelini's departure was almost worse than Saban's.

Well put.

Louisiana culture = drinking alcoholicly, eating to much, and working less than the rest of the country.

At least when Miles retire, we won't have to see these comparisons when the next coach comes in...Saban is a good coach, but he wasn't winning NCs at that same rate at LSU.
