MGoBlog Article

Brian Cook, the author of MgoBlog, is usually pretty good on his info. Looks like it'll happen. I'd rather see a home & home, but it'll still be pretty awesome to see two of the top programs in history facing off on the field.

Hopefully Michigan is good by then, because as of now, it's looking lika Bama will spank PSU this season.

WTF? You both have awesome stadiums and no ties to Dallas whatsoever.

You lucky, lucky frickers. SC hasn't scheduled such prominent opponents since our days of independence.

To be fair, I don't know many teams that are overly scared of the current state of UM football.

Neither Alabama nor Michigan have a recruiting presence in Texas. I guess this makes sense if they WANT to establish one (who doesn't), but honestly LSU-Oregon makes more sense as a neutral ground series.

If RR gets through this year, other teams will have plenty to fear by 2012.

Yeah I understand that but geographically it's like wtf? We don't have a presence in California but I can't see us playing a Big 10 team in LA

Maybe its simply about national exposure? Not just to the local kids but to the nation for a big OOC match-up. In a similar way that UGA did with Ok.State and ASU.

Bama fan living in Texas here and I'm pumped.

This has jerry jones fingerprints all over this. No secret he's trying to pay for his stadium. The stadium is in Texas where there are a butliad of recruits. The payout to each of these schools is going to be to great to try
and do a home and home. No secret that
one time neutral site games with 50 50 ticket
split generate the most demand and
generate the most profit.

Lookup the deal Tex AM and Arky got for their annual scrimmage at Cowboys Stadium. It is like 5 mil a year to each school. That is easy money and easy exposure for recruits.

To all the old bama fogies who want to keep things traditional, open your eyes. we Just added onto our stadium twice in the past decade by issuing bonds and private donations, economy sucks, we have a 5 mil a year hc.

We gotta stay on the leading edge of making
money.... Shut up, go to the game, have fun...
