Announced officially by the school and by him in a BS statement (“it was a tough decision” is maximum pissing on people’s legs and telling them it’s raining).

Number I saw on X was $1.75 million, anyone heard any different? It’s a cut but I don’t see he and his posse having to take any vows of poverty.

Anyway, our long forum nightmare is over. Or maybe not.

Anyone care to quote odds of him ending up in Oxford next year?

Tennessee lost a good quarterback. Time to move on. Nico is doing what is best for himself. Tennessee will be lucky to win 8 regular season games this coming season without a good replacement.

he'll forever be an example of NIL gone wrong.

Again, IMO it’s an example of the portal gone wrong rather than NIL gone wrong. If the wide open Wild West annual free agency portal wasn’t in place, where’s the clout for any player, not just him, to pull this s**t?

He's in a worse situation in basically every way imaginable.

The one positive is he's closer to home.

Depends on how u view it. 6 years ago he would be playing for no official money.

Now he's a millionaire...

I hear you, but in this environment can you say with metaphysical certitude that ANYBODY will be somewhere two years down the road?

He made his decision and that is his business. I am not saying it is the best decision he has made up to this point.

You said he's doing what's best for himself.

He clearly isn't.

His message to Tennessee fans:

"First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for His grace, for continuing to bless my family, and for allowing me to live out my passion each and every day. To the amazing people in Knoxville, thank you for embracing and uplifting me throughout my time there. I’ll be forever thankful for the support you showed me every step of the way and I’ll always cherish the relationships I built there and the memories I created with my brothers. I believe with all my heart that I gave my all as a Volunteer. I’m truly grateful for the time I had at UT. My journey at UT has come to an end. This decision was incredibly difficult, and truthfully, not something I expected to make this soon. But I trust God’s timing, and I believe He’s leading me where I need to be."

Not really. He’ll still be playing for a P5 program and will likely have even better stats due to playing against weaker competition.
