Just got an email from Left/Net, one of the Dem fundraisers:
quote:
The administration’s crusade against public education is nothing new. Trump and his GOP cronies are attacking public education to divert essential resources from students, teachers, families, and communities to fund tax breaks for the ultra-rich.

Or this: Apr 24, 2024 — U.S. students ranked 28th out of 37 OECD member countries in math
100 Billion to rank 27th out of 37
100 Billion to rank 27th out of 37

Disregarding the fact that the majority of public schools are funded locally and the rest of the DOE is filled with bureaucratic waste. Many presidents have wanted to end it.
Also, the universities truly have become liberal indoctrination centers, especially for young females.
I witnessed this from many girls I went to high school with getting nose rings and blue hair.

You don't "fund" tax breaks - so let's start with that.

Dismanteling the DOE has been a long time coming.

Yeah, gotta bring down all 1% of this part of the population.

The boogie man of “tax breaks for the rich” isn’t going to work anymore. The vast majority of Americans realize that is utter BS.

they are failed institutions.

good point.
The only thing he is doing is giving local people the FREEDOM to fix broken systems.

Only the biggest of idiots would buy that nonsense

To the best of my knowledge he isn't advocating trying to destroy public schools. He is advocating for removing the Department of Education influence on curriculum and social engineering policies from destroying schools. He wants the states to take over all things relating to schools for kids.
You want you kids to grow up cucked and confused over their sex... move to California and let them go to school there.

Current teacher and former coach here. I’m seeing some signs of improvement in Louisiana for the first time I can remember, and it’s all state level policies. Fed DOE is nothing but a money waster and a bureaucratic organization that twists the arms of states to implement ridiculous policies and programs.

1) I want to see the DOE eliminated
2) I don't care where we rate as a whole. I want the common student to be able to perform and understand the basic math in day to day living. I want our top students educated to the point where they are as well educated as anyone in the world.

The Dept of Ed should be reduced to nothing more than a statistics tracking function sans any other powers, funding or management roles.
A former sister-in-law was a teacher on the Lower East Side of NYC. She said the only thing the DOE did was fill up their storage closets and basement with useless crap that it was illegal to throw away.
