St. John's worries me. If we make it that far. If they win.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned about the ‘Jays. I had a feeling Louisville was fool’s gold but Creighton still efficiently dismantled them.

It was the matchup I was most worried about before we have an opportunity to get to the sweet 16 after the brackets were announced.

If we can just get through them and get to Atlanta…

If Broome can get their C in foul trouble, your guards are good enough to lock down their shooters when he isn’t in the game.

The +9 seems a bit binary. AU by 15 if their C is in foul trouble. Close game if not…who knows which one happens

You just worry because that “going through the motions” performance against ASU may very well carry over. We keep playing like that we are a prime target for an early exit.

At least in the Bama, UT and A&M losses the energy and effort was there. We simply got beat. ASU it was a bad performance against a bad team, and if we play like that against a good team like the Jays, we may very well get smoked off the court.

I can’t fault them for the A&M game, Bama did the same thing in 2023. It’s impossible to be locked in for a quick turnaround road game immediately after winning the championship.

The Bama game was good effort and while UT wasn’t a bad effort, it didn’t seem like they were in a “win or go home” mindset. The only problem with trying to flip the switch on effort is if it’s out of sync, it can generate forced plays on both sides of the ball — turnovers or bad shots on offense and dumb fouls on defense. But if they can survive today or even start clicking, that will reset the clock (and a revenge game against A&M in Atlanta would be good for motivation next weekend).

I was just making a joke about 8 seed Creighton being listed as a 16 seed on that poster.

But yeah, I don't feel great about this game today.

It will be. Kansas just foundered the last 2 months of the season. Seems like they might have issues, either coaching or personnel.

This is an intriguing matchup for sure. Kentucky fans know both of these coaches intimately.

St. Johns is probably the better team (which is meaningless in the NCAA), but Arkansas probably has better overall shooters. St. Johns is more athletic, but Arkansas has the ability to be more physical.

Cal has owned Pitino mostly, but that was at UK.

Arkansas certainly played better after Boogie thought the season was tanking and opted out with his hand injury. Arkansas clearly played better, Wagner and Davis both improved dramatically after he was out. Will things revert back with him back?

St. Johns has a great record, but against what competition ? Even Uconn is down from previous years, Creighton might be the 2nd best overall team. With that said, Rick is a master coach, and he continues to emphasize defense creates offense.
Cal relies mostly on talent and that can lead to exciting wins, and crushing losses. Arkansas is playing about as well as they have all season at the right time.

Tough call. I think St. Johns will win just because I think their defensive pressure will finally overcome the last 10 minutes like Rick likes to do. But, if Arkansas has a solid shooting percentage, they could win.

Anyway, like I said, this will be a fun game to watch.

I fully expect Ole Miss to beat Iowa State. TAM to beat Michigan. Arky game is a tossup, Creighton probably isn't a match for Auburn's physicality.

Florida runs Uconn out of the gym. Kentucky will have to shoot well to beat Illinois. Bama wins easy. Tennessee should beat Ucla.

So, Ole Miss, TAM, Auburn, Bama and Tennessee for sure advancing.

Maybe Arky and Kentucky

That would be 7-9 of 16. Would be amazing.

A&M will have a tough time with Michigan. Those two teams are a lot alike, and A&M will not be able to rely on a rebounding advantage. UCLA and UT will be a fun one

Another day of everyone wishcasting A&M to lose what a surprise. Now Michigan is the best rebounding team in the country? Better than the SEC? Good grief

A&M are historically chokers, and you know it. They will not be able to feed the internal guy all day long like they did with Yale. Both teams kind of suck at offense.

A good matchup to be honest
