Doesn’t fumble there at the end of the half, Notre Dame didn’t get that touchdown and all the momentum going into the half, and then they probably don’t take the kickoff back and UGA wins the game.

Despite the fact that many UGA fans were piping on about, they needed Beck. Yes he was prone to INTs but he also made some clutch thread the needle type of passes. Plus that would have opened up the Dawgs run game. They were one dimensional and ND took advantage of it. ND on defense is light years ahead of what they were 5 years ago when Bama throttled them or Clemson throttled them

What you say is true but most competitive football games can usually be boiled down to 2-3 huge plays that ended up making the difference.

If 57 could block anything, Stockton wouldn't have fumbled or been hit 12 more times.

We gave up 17 points in 1 minute and then 6 points in the 59 other minutes. Insane.

I couldn't believe how bad Georgia receivers looked. I mean Georgia has never been know as having great WRs, but those guys were subpar at best.

Who wants to go to Georgia if you are a WR when you never have a premiere QB? It’s not like LSU where you are going to raise your stock for the NFL. You are playing with the Stetson Bennett and Carson Becks of the world.

It’s why AD Mitchell came to Texas to catch balls from Ewers (whose stock was super high at the time as one of the up and coming QBs) versus staying with his team that just won a natty!

If UGAs OL doesn’t get blown up…. OL is a pretty fundamental flaw. A KO return in a playoff game by anyone who isn’t CP level is another huge flaw. Football isn’t just about whether your offense scores on offensive drives.

Once we got behind by 17 after that disaster before the half and the KO return Kirby and staff knew we would’nt get enough possessions to just grind a running game so we had to put the ball on Stockton to throw which is not where you want to be with a QB in his first start. He actually did pretty good but ND could tee off on him and that was the deal breaker.

100%.

If you are a high value WR, why do you go to UGA?

You go to a system that optimizes your brand and opportunities (a la LSU) because they create big time opportunities at the next level due to their system and QB play.

Conversely, if you are a 5 star and top tier TE you look at UGA. You look at the system, the bus driver QBs who favor check downs and safety valve throws that highlight TE and you look at Bowers in college and NFL as an example and inspiration for the art of the possible.

Still seems to me Notre Dame was pretty dominant and turnovers and special teams matter.

They were absolutely dominant for a minute of that game. The rest of them? Not so much.
