Claiming pre-integration titles is racist.

How many 3-peats have there been and what are the odds for UGA doing it?

The only 3peat is Minnesota in 1934-1936, with the Gophers claiming the first AP title in 1936.
Also, only Alabama and Georgia in the SEC have accomplished the feat of going back-to-back.

Michigan claims 1901-1904 too

I miss when the Golden Gophers were an elite program, back when football was still football

The only SEC team that is debateable that has done it or got close is Alabama (64-65-66). A book was written about the missing ring for 1966.
I believe on MN (1934-1936) and Army (1944-46), but back then it was a little easier since some years multiple teams claim the national title. Ivy league did it a lot 3 peats pre-poll era.

According to a co-worker who is originally from far north Minnesota, he says all they really care about at Minnesota is college hockey and the Vikings; which is pathetic considering the respectable Big Three sports history there. 4 AP titles in Football and 3 College World Series titles.

Ncaa only recognizes one of these

What polls are you using to determine NCs?

I was just looking at what the Schools claims.
Eventually none of these back to backs will count besides Georgia because they were not in the playoff era.

NCAA doesn’t recognize either. They don’t recognize championships preBCS.

Understood. I think people debate a third or so of Alabama national title claims. But it doesn't stop them from printing the t-shirts.
It was a different time, heck there was even a bias against the SEC back then.

Big 7 I guess, when Oklahoma and Texas joins the SEC.

You might be wrong, but that seems unfair. It is difficult to win back to backs no matter the era....except when they were playing with only 10-20 teams in the whole country.

Thanks. All impressive runs by these schools.

Just because Auburn sux something awful doesn’t mean football’s not football.

With UGA’s weak ‘23 schedule, you have a good chance. A&M has been in SEC and UGA yet to play????

If the polls hadn't had a southern bias!
Alabama '64,'65 and '66
Alabama '77, '78, '79

Don’t forget Alabama 77-79. Alabama was #3 and #1, 2, and 4 teams lost. #5 Notre Dame beat #1 Texas and jumped Alabama or it could have been a three-peat.
