State didn’t even win their division that year.

This is a ridiculous approach. A lot of people take really good teams to Omaha and don’t win. However the dude has got to go.

re: SELA Flood insurance keeps going up the permitted 17% or 18% per year...
Posted by MsState of mind on 4/19/25 at 12:47 pm
Risk rating 2.0 per FEMA changed the way they viewed flooding by rating elevation rather than “flood zones”. They rerated every house and essentially will raise 18% a year until you get there. They did away with grandfathering all together but by law can only raise so much so it will take a while. Some homes did better, homes in velocity zones with good elevation, while others did way worse like grandfathered “A” zone homes on a slab.
At least in Mississippi FEMA said only about half the policies would go up but it looks like roughly 85% did and the others were new construction with good elevation. Also the old “X” zone policies went from $500 a year to about $1500/yr. Private flood is a good option for those.
I am coastal Mississippi so not the exact same as LA but pretty close

Worts AQ teams play in and worst at large teams do
re: Serious Question: Would anyone here fly on a SpaceX rocket?
Posted by MsState of mind on 3/6/25 at 8:40 pm
It takes NASA five years in between test flights because they don’t want anything to fail where SpaceX builds one sees what goes wrong and fixes it on the next one and fires another one off two months later.

Im biased as hell for MSU but I’ll say why I think it’s a great school depending on major.
Starkville is the school. Not a whole bunch of city riff raff. Grocery store, restaurants, bars are almost all students, alumni, and professors.
It has tremendous value, low tuition, and is not overrun with liberal academic types. Still very conservative school.
City has a much lower cost of living.
7 saturdays a year it’s not quite what the others you listed are but year round it is a great place to be a college student.
Major matters though so start there

He wants reform in the Democratic Party. He will never vote R but having a bunch of Ds listen to him and not be radical is a good thing. If republicans do a bunch of stupid shite, which they have for a long time, I won’t start voting for democrats. I’ll try and vote for better republicans. He is the democrat version of that hopefully and that’s not a bad thing

Doctors are the only motherfrickers that can be 2 hours late to a scheduled meeting time and everyone just seems to accept it. I have walked out before because of a doctor being so late. If he has no respect for my time, I have no respect for him.
I used to feel this way. My wife works/worked in a doctors office and they would routinely do surgeries in the morning before appointments and if something went wrong it would cause delays all day. I have a small amount of forgiveness now. A small amount

People wearing pjs outside is a result of the dumb lazy shite the world allows now. While not a huge problem it is a result of the huge problem

Were there others or just the most recent? I've not heard of others but I would bet there were. I have had Shelter for 30+ years and after Katrina (I think) they quit writing policies south of Hattiesburg.
Companies been pulling out of California for several years. Insurance commissioner would not approve rate increases. Like any other state State Farm is just the biggest.

Correction. Republicans never eat to actually deal with it. Kick the can down the road long enough to complain it will affect midterms and mug blue wave, then presidential election 2028. Rinse wash repeat. Heard it all before
