Wait, I was wrong.
Texas will be #2 when they join. Over FL and State.

Its Florida as 2nd best, but I would argue Miss State would be in the mix with Vandy and SC.
CWS Total
Miss State = 12
Florida = 13
Vandy = 5
SC = 4
SEC Tourn
Miss State = 7
Florida = 7
Vandy = 4
SC = 1
Season
Miss State = 12
Florida = 16
Vandy = 9
SC = 3

re: True or False: Oklahoma and/or Texas will be the new Nebraska in the SEC

Nebraska wasn't good before the Big 10. This isn't the 90s anymore.
Now they just get worst recruits.

Removing Miss State from Auburn. It should be Florida or even Tennessee over Miss St.

I think Ok or TX will break through one year to the SEC championship, just because there will be no divisions.
It will just come down to the schedule. They could honestly play the schedule below and get to the SEC championship game.
Miss St, Texas A&M, Ok/TX, AR, Ole Miss, Vandy, Missouri, and Kentucky.
Now they would get embarrassed in the SEC championship game, but you get the picture. Heck, you could switch one of those teams out for Auburn -- you get the picture.

It would be a start.
You would find out what its like cheering on a championship football team if you did. Its the expectation in the SEC.

I'll miss the fact if you win your division, it means something. That you won your side vs what the future looks like.
You could get to the SEC championship because you didn't have Alabama, Georgia, etc on your schedule.
Whoever has the easiest SEC schedule gets to the championship. Not too different than pre-divisions.

Everyone talks about 64 teams, but hell there isn't even 30 teams that I would say our legit teams that draw interested.(Football only)
I would prefer quality than quantity.

They end after this year. Next year will be ACC vs SEC basketball challenge.
re: Big 10 is the worst conference over the last 50 years

Yeah, before the SEC was king. Big 12 (aka Big 8/Southwest) was.
I recall seeing some really good SEC teams getting blown out by Nebraska in the mid-90s.
Now more than half of those teams are destine to fail.

Big 10 is the worst conference over the last 50 years

Big 10 has won 2.5 National titles (Michigan'97; OSU'02 &'14) in the last 50 years. This severely underperforms every major conference, even ones that doesn't exist anymore like the Big East or Big 8.
Was it resources? No, Big 10 made $$ with the SEC each year. They have huge fans bases & tv ratings.
Is it because of lack of coaching? Some programs like WI or MI had the very best like Barry Alvarez or Bo Schembechler. Jim Tressel for some is right there, with Urban Meyer or Dantonio or even Saban for short period of time.
No one does less with more. Big 10 even makes Texas look good. :rotflmao:

2019 LSU hand down the best in modern era, at least in the SEC.

Understood. I think people debate a third or so of Alabama national title claims. But it doesn't stop them from printing the t-shirts.
It was a different time, heck there was even a bias against the SEC back then.

I was just looking at what the Schools claims.
Eventually none of these back to backs will count besides Georgia because they were not in the playoff era.

I don't understand where this is coming from. Because Alabama isn't dominating every opponent every week anymore? That cannot last. With NIL and transfer portal, it's going to be impossible to maintain that kind of standard. But Saban has adapted just fine to every change in college football.
Look, I've watch people talk that Saban can't compete with Urban. Urban basically gets dominated. Same thing with Dabo & Clemson takes a step back. Now its Saban vs Kirby. Saban is still 4 wins and 1 loss against a Georgia team led by Smart.
The only thing stopping Saban is his age. I'll feel differently if he wasn't recruiting lights out every year.

How many 3-peats have there been and what are the odds for UGA doing it?
The only SEC team that is debateable that has done it or got close is Alabama (64-65-66). A book was written about the missing ring for 1966.
I believe on MN (1934-1936) and Army (1944-46), but back then it was a little easier since some years multiple teams claim the national title. Ivy league did it a lot 3 peats pre-poll era.

Saban will surprise us all. We thought he would be retired by now & enjoy life. I believe we all think he will win 1 more, but I'll take Saban on his word.
He is still in it as long as the team is going to be successful. I could easily seeing him winning one & staying longer if he feels like a good chance on repeating. If he wins 3 more, no surprise.
He is building that mountain high to be the greatest.

MSU should hire Dan Mullen if Arnett doesn't work out

Got the program out of the cellar. Decent win %. One of the best coaches in MSU history
But how do State fans feel about bringing him back?
