Yeah I didn’t think in a million years they’d physically beat us like that.
Part of it was the refs allowing them to throw elbows/hip check/tomahawk chop our guys going to the rim and not calling it more than half the time.
It isn't the reason we lost, but the refereeing was atrocious last night.
Perfect example was JW getting fouled twice by the same guy on the missed dunk he got hurt on, no call, then the UK player trips over his own feet, Broome is never close enough to reach out and touch him, foul on Broome.
The 2 times CBM got whacked in the face, no F1, Tre bumps a guy with his shoulder, F1.

I think UK found our kryptonite. Pick up and pressure the guards right at half court and everything falls apart. We had no answer for it.
Florida did the same thing to us.

I expected at least a Sweet16 run, and down to the last week competing for the SECC.
Still do.

Our program is at the point where we should always have expectation to get out of the first weekend

Broome is annoying. He talks shite when he scores, then when he get schooled he complains to the ref.
Maybe just play basketball. And this isn't about hyping up the arena. He's just one of those annoying shite talkers that looks like an arse. Baker doing it more too. KD has always done it.
This team is getting more and more shite talky as the season goes. They ain't that good. Way too inconsistent.

I disagree. Everyone is doing that. The games we have lost Jaylin hasn’t scored inside. Broome has been limited. If the other team has a lengthy shot blocker is our offensive kryptonite. Their shot blocker played I think 36 minutes last night.

That was a flagrant one.
He knew it.
Not sure why he did it other than frustration.
The thing we forget is most of the players on their team are very talented.
Last night they played to that talent.
All is not lost.
We should win 3 more and we have an opportunity to play a great team in Tennessee.

Agreed fully here. I think Bruce knew it heading to the SC game. Kentucky has great guards and exposed our weakness.

Kentucky way more talented than us. Way more talented that pretty much everyone.

They played with excellent effort on the defensive end for the first time in weeks.
Sometimes gameday, big game can get that out of high end talent.
That being said, better execution and shot-making on the offensive end would have been plenty enough to win. Instead we were terrible.

How are JWs minutes divided against UGA Saturday?
He plays about 24 minutes.
CBM could play more.
I guess Cardwell and Broome could spend some time together on the court.
Moore could play more?
Lior?
Do we go 3 guard some?
UGA has a big, big man- Chewla or something like that.

Good question. One bad thing about rolling with the 2 deep rigid structure we have all season is that it’s difficult to conceive any of these guys moving positions. Broome moving up to the 4 feels like it would be clunky for offensive spacing and Mazara moving down to the 4 feels like we could get abused on the boards and possibly on the block. Moore has played a good bit of 4 in his career but his defensive rebounding there has been terrible.
I’m worried on all fronts.

Chaney Johnson should get more minutes. I don't think you can play Broome and Cardwell at the same time either.
Posted on 2/19/24 at 4:29 pm to Smoke7024
Yeah Chaney and Moore will get more minutes.

There are moments when I can see why we went and got him.
So Broome/Chaney/CBM/Moore probably play a little more.
I would guess Denver gets more time as well. I think he can be a scoring threat.
