Auburn Men's Basketball 2025 - What does the lineup look like?

Who's the starting 5?
Are we gonna throw money at Pettiford to get him to stick around?
CBM with his extra year?
Keyshawn Hall? Can he come in and make a splash?
Who do we have to play the 5 next year? Do we need to portal two bigs? Would be great to get another Kessler...
Funny fact:
247 has us in the way to early top25 for next year.
1 Houston
2 Duke
3 Auburn

I think we take a big step back. We haven't exactly knocked out HS recruiting and transfers can be hit or miss.

We are losing alot of team leadership. Thats the biggest issue.

If we land a good defensive center and add an above average CG I think we have another top 5-7 roster (assuming Pettiford and CBM come back)

I was reading an article that college basketball coaches rarely recruit highschool tomorrow and they showed the quote/video of Rick pitino during a St. John’s press conference mentioning college coaches don’t have spots for high schoolers. Those highschool spots are reserved for transfers now.

Agreed, unless it's a top flight recruit it seems like big programs don't reserve a spot for a developing high school recruit. They kind of offload that responsibility to a smaller program and come back to pick them up if they end up developing

The problem with transfers is you are at the mercy of the open market. It's a small pool and there are big fish in there.

Did you read about the dust up between the Freshman on his team said after he benched him? And now that freshman is in the portal.

Yea, but we’re one of the biggest.

CBB is pretty formulaic when it comes to having a top team. A big in the middle to dominate the paint. A flashy guard with athleticism, vision, and knowledge. Someone to hit threes from the outside.
Yeah, there's a lot more strategy and depth required, but ultimately, you'll need those three spots to make a tournament run.
If we can get Pettiford to come back and if he can become a more knowledgeable basketball player, we'll be fine at the guard spot. I think we can find a decent three point shooter.
Finding a big like Broome? Or even a top defensive guy like Cardwell? That's a tall order.
