Reports Are Texas Will 'break the bank' To Get Nick Saban
Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports
Before Texas hired Charlie Strong, they made a run at trying to land Alabama head coach Nick Saban. Obviously, that didn't happen. But now with Strong on the way out and rumors of him being linked to the Miami job, CBS Sports' Brian Jones says Texas will go at Saban again...
quote:

“There will be another run at Mr. Saban,” Jones said. “They will break the bank. Whatever it takes.”
You think Saban even entertains this thought?

Even if he leaves Bama - what a run. Greatest. Dynasty. Ever.

If he goes to Texas, that will be a dynasty unlike any that has ever been seen.

"Not according to him"

According to him he wasn't going to be the al-Abama coach.

I think he might be tired of the Alabama expectations and can start again from scratch. I think that is a part he likes.

It's kinda cute that you think the fans have higher expectations than he does.

He has interest there as well. I think when people start reporting on this stuff it pisses Saban off and effects his decision in a way. He likes a new challenge and prefers to stay in the NCAA. This is a real option. If too much comes up about it, expect Saban to go on a tirade and with Bama in the hunt for the playoff, I don't think he can honestly make that decision until after that point, which really hurts a college team's chances of getting him.

Saban to Texas, Finebaum to the Longhorn Network. Everybody wins.

I am not a Saban fan since he went to Bama but I do respect what he did for LSU and Bama as a coach.

Moving on, I don't think Saban is motivated by the actual money amount he gets paid. I am sure he doesn't have to worry about paying any bills. I do think he loves to be the top of the list of anything he does and being the highest paid coach gives him a hard on. I think he is also motivated by turning a football program around like he did at LSU and Bama.

That said and I am ashamed to admit that I hope Texas does win him over. That way, we won't have to face him every year and only face him if we make the play-offs or any scheduled OOC game. I will add I love Les Miles as a recruiter but as an X's and O's coach, he is deficient and the assistant coaches he hired are inept.

We do not want him at Texas recruiting against LSU.

Miles to Texas is more like it! People need to realize this could be very possible.

If you'd rather him stay at Alabama and beat LSU every year than go to Texas and recruit against LSU every year, you're delusional.
