I was there Sunday. The course was dry. Not hard as a tabletop. But it was dry. Only saw a little wet in the spectator areas along the13th fairway in a couple of spots.

I’m not claiming it was wet, I’m just saying it wasn’t dried out and hard. He apparently didn’t mean it was that way to begin with, so that’s it

Definitely. Rory just pulled an extra 25 yards out of his arse for the weekend.

Probably just ate a couple of adderall on the weekend for some extra juice
quote:

The average driving distance was up 7 yards overall this year according to datagolf.

Rory’s driving average:

Thursday: 314 Friday: 320 Saturday: 340 Sunday: 342

The field:

Thursday: 296 Friday: 291 Saturday: 300 Sunday: 300

There’s not a single piece of information you can point to that shows the course was wet on the weekend other than Spieth complaining about mud balls on 2 holes that always stay that way because they’re at the lowest point of the course with the most shade and the creek/tributary running along them. And his complaint even said that it was better than normal. What else you got?

By dried out I mean that it wasn’t soft by its usual standards or after a decent rain. It was perfect and the roll outs were available.

That’s a lot of words to say you were wrong and the course wasn’t dried out
I know why he mentioned them, you’re arguing something completely different than what I’m saying. The course wasn’t dried out, doesn’t matter how you keep trying to explain it. In fact, the course wasn’t even a little dry much less dried out
I understood the quote. I’m saying that a dried out course would mean the spots that are usually that soft wouldn’t be soft enough to produce mud balls at that point. The term dried out means it’s a lot drier than normal, which wouldn’t still give you mud balls. He wasn’t saying that there are mud balls under any condition

Again, the point is that the course wasn’t dried out
quote:

You were wrong about the dates of the rain. You were wrong about the amount of rain Friday. You were wrong about the point Spieth was making. You are now wrong about me claiming it was concrete. On a roll.

Only thing I got wrong was that it rained Tuesday instead of Monday. Brandell told McGinley that it poured Friday night. The rain totals at the airport don’t mean that’s what the course also got. Ive seen it rain an inch in one place and nothing 5 miles away. And if the course was dried out then the mud balls that are usually there on those holes wouldn’t be anymore, that part of the course would just be not as dry

The course wasn’t dried out, end of story
You’re right, the course was dried out. It was like concrete out there, I think every player in the field complained about it
quote:

He said they were always out there but they’re not allowed to talk about it. And the rain was Friday morning. Reports had it at less than a quarter inch. The NOAA station by the airport had it at just a tenth.

Jesus, mud on the balls Saturday, the course wasn’t dried out, man
quote:

No. The rain was Monday. And the rain Friday night was very light. Hardly enough to soften anything.

Chamblee said it poured Friday night on live from the masters on Saturday, and Speith said there were mud balls on some holes Saturday. The point is the course wasn’t dried out
quote:

Of course

But it was stated an 18 wouldn’t break 175 and a scratch wouldn’t break 100 on multiple channels. That was the metrics used and retweeted and talked about

I think that’s clearly just way out there

The discussion was what a 15 handicap would shoot in tournament conditions from the masters tees, and former champions were saying they probably wouldn't break a 100

Not surprising you have no idea what you’re talking about

quote:

Add in a dried out course that didn’t see much rain since Monday and you get more roll out. Getting 125 in on 18 two shots in a row was crazy.

It rained most of the day Tuesday and poured Friday night, the course was not dried out

McJohnson doesn’t need to be fired, but everyone that thinks he’s great needs to be reminded that he’s not
