Charles was a few years ahead of me at Bibb County High School. Outstanding athlete in every sport, with terrible misfortunes with the 76ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. "Southern Man," off "After The Gold Rush," is a wholly different song than "Alabama," which was on "Harvest," a later album. Both were period pieces, referring to a historical era, rather than modern times.
