Britain is a good example. Since the invasion of the island by the Romans, there has been a blending of Britons, Romans, Gauls, Picts, Saxons, Germans, Vikings, Irish, Welsh and Scots up to the colonial period… and since then you have Africans, Indians, Pakistanis, and more joining the empire. This ...

As an old(ish) man, I can tell you I would rather just have a real, honest conversation with someone about something meaningful than a gift. Time spent like that IS a gift.
Maybe we could go to a baseball game or fishing instead of a gift.
Or play a round of golf. Or visit a battlefield.

I can’t stand the stupid Christmas rap song in the Amazon commercial that plays every break of every game this time of year.
Unh. Yeah. It’s a good time comin’…
It’s offensive… not to Christmas. But to music. ...

It’s funny you mention the stress reduction qualities of miniature painting… that’s why I started doing it when I was an undergrad more than 30 years ago. Still works to this day....

There is no fine. ESPN is a cable network, therefore it is not subject to broadcast restrictions. ...

Chickens come home to roost. This is the price Britain pays for its colonial empire. This is why empires are not for those who want to remain a homogenous society. If you want an empire, you have to be okay with this. If not… the empire game is not for you. Stay home instead. ...
Why are these even a thing?
In theory, the person being pardoned could have been or have been perceived as doing something illegal, on the classified orders of the President or in the best interests of the country. In that case, a pardon would be appropriate even if unpopular.

I like the show. It’s fun to see more stories onscreen in the Dune universe. There’s plenty of room there for TV shows.
That being said, I’m not really a fan of flashback episodes or jumping around in time. I don’t exactly know why modern TV and movie writers think the origin story of every majo...

Without a doubt, it’s the very dramatic scene in the Pianist when the pianist is playing to save his life in front of the Nazi officer.
It is a truly incredible scene. ...

I met Chuck Woolery about 20 years ago. He was a really great guy. Very genuine.

In all seriousness, if you’re ever confronted about not participating in the pronoun game there’s an easy out. Just say you don’t participate because it forces people into declaring something they may not be ready to declare.
By forcing someone to declare pronouns… you are either “outing” them o...

Utah up 4-1 on the Canes.
Utah just killed an eight and a half minute power play. Not a typo. 8:30!
And they were at 5-3 man disadvantage at one point in that epic kill. It was amazing!...

The Kraken started off so bad, but rallied in Period Two!
It will be very interesting to see if they can take advantage of a relatively weak November schedule to catch up in the standings. The opportunity is there!...
