YOU ARE 100% out of the loop. Schloss already DENIED Texas. Jay Johnson already DENIED Texas. Bill O'Connor already DENIED Texas. They are going down this list fast. Texas has run down facilities and is a 100% complete rebuild. Texas fans think everyone wants to come there. In reality, many coaches don't want to put up with their crap including all their fair weather fans. CDC really has screwed Texas by not keeping the facilities up to a SEC standard. I laugh at UT!! Come back to this thread as all the sips will say they hired their #1 choice. But of course that won't be Schloss or Johnson...as they decided they wanted better coaches!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. FYI....no SEC coach other than Van Horn is going to seriously consider. Sullivan might, just might. But everyone else is gonna laugh at you!! Be prepared to compete with MO for last place next year!! Also you lolquote:Too funny, my responses are ignored from the Texas posters as they doesn't like what I'm saying. Again, Texas has ZERO chance to hire either Schloss or Johnson. Those conversations are over with CDC. Period the end. This I know absolutely. Vitello? That I have no personal knowledge about him other than knowing TN and their facilities and committment to him. Unless Texas gives him a $100M contract (exaggerated), just never going to happen. I absolutley do think that CNC wants Vitello as his new #1 at this point, considering Schloss and Johnson have said "No". He would certainly be the splash hire that CDC so desperately needs to stay relevant. But I will eat crows if he is hired. In fact, I will ban myself from SEC Rant if Texas is able to hire: Vitello. Best shot is Van Horn or Sullivan. That's it.
Ouch.

Go ahead. Alls fair.
Just inbtheb1% chance that doesn’t happen, come back here as well and take other medicine.

I’m sure this thread will get bumped very shortly when Texas starts doing the only thing it knows how to do: ruin conferences for its own self interests
How would they do that?
Texas was in the SWC for a long damn time. Big 12 formed as a modern conference and Texas went.
Texas didn’t kill the B12. Texas and OU carried it. ATM left because they were going broke and needed a cash infusion and didn’t like the longhorn network. NU left because they didn’t want hear over partial qualifiers. Colorado left because they never identified with the Midwest and wanted their school win with Stanford and USC. Only atm left because of Texas—and you’ve seen about how influential they are the last 12 years. Mid level football and a lot of jabbering.
Not sure why Missouri left.
But Texas and OU carried almost all the revenue in the B12. SEC has so much more parity. What on earth could Texas do to hurt anything here?
We are not that powerful. Don’t believe at the atm boogie man talk.

You’ll see. This is part of their schtick. Everything has a hateful nickname. Tess’s is sip. Schloss is now PoS.
They do this constantly.

Seriously though, you ever have that relative by marriage that you thought you wouldn’t have to see anymore after the divorce but slimy ducking snake somehow worms his way back? That’s texas.
I hate them with the burning fire of a thousand sun. They aren’t good partners. Hoping for the best.
Honestly, brother, we’re not here to be good partners with you. We’re here to chart our own course and build something special with the SEC in whatever ways we can help. Maybe we f*** it all up and lose too much, but probably we’ll have a pretty damn fun time taking shots for the trophy every now and again and the football will be worth watching either way.
But you, you’re different. We’re here to beat you as many times as possible as we follow our goals. We’d just as soon see you guys stay a middling contender, beat you 6 out of every 7 seasons, and eventually watch you go back to the Big 12 with your big pouty lips and your tough talk and your hitler youth haircut, goose stepping, pretend military cult red asses marching back to a conference where you might—MIGHT—actually have a Vegas odds shot of wining your first real trophy since Gone With the Wind was being filmed.
Feel free to blame us every step of the way as you go, too. It’s the only thing you seem to do with consistency as a fan base—no need to give that up now.

Welcome friend. Your team is not a power player. Can't hide behind cheap conference wins against Kansas, Iowa St, and TTU anymore. Be patient, they will choke. Always have, always will.
Definitely a power player. It’s just in the DNA. Not saying better than everyone else or anything but Texas is just a big, regional, Texas sized force of nature.
All that oil money. All those politicians. All that state-wide athletic talent and infrastructure. School has billion dollar endowment, a brand as big as the Yankees (in terms of revenue generation), is always winning directors cups.
Not that others don’t do that, but if we’re just being honest, Texas is its own force in the world. Not the be all end all greatest or anything just one of a few that can really pull it off.
That said, we don’t always live up to it in football. Fair critique. TTU can be pesky as hell at home at night. Iowas state is well coached right now but we never should have lost to them the last 10 years. Kansas there’s no excuse for. And Kansas State haunts my dreams. They are pesky as hell and ruin a few seasons for better teams every year. I’m glad to get away from them because they was no real rivalry energy just a brick wall hitting kinda hard out on the schedule.
But man we schedule hard OOC opponents every year, and don’t schedule FCS opponents. So that balances it quite a bit. Go back to the Sagarin SOS rankings and Texas has been between the #1 and #8 SOS for a long, long time. We definitely don’t take the easy way out.
Maybe we should have been. But we did not and it cost us.

If that is your greatest accomplishment in history you’re in for a lot of sad singing and slow walking.
You just look silly bringing it up constantly, just thought someone should let you know.
But did you beat them at home?
Look, we were a good team last year, but not great. But I think it was a pretty cool deal to go into Bama and take a win at a night game in their house. No idea if we do it 3 times out 4 last year or not but we had a chance and didn’t miss it.
Especially when our slide began after a night game loss to them in the national championship game. Seemed a good time to turn it back on and make the playoff.
But we got a long way to go before we prove that we are back in the winners circle. And we deserve all the football shite talk we get until we can show we are back. Sure hope it happens—last 12 years kinda sucked.

Your biggest concern is that OU and Georgia are back to back games. And playing A&M at the end of the year really benefits the weaker team which is us. Also Arkansas will play out of their minds to stop you. And I see you losing to Michigan. Hopefully you don’t drop a game you shouldn’t. I see 4 games that could be a loss without much convincing. I think 8-4 is the worst it will be. Assuming you beat A&M (if healthy you win that game) and Arkansas. I only see 2 losses. So 10 wins I think is the ceiling. If you beat Michigan you can beat just about anyone. We will see.
And the other thing that seems to occur is how SEC teams tend to beat teams up. It takes some getting used to.
That all sounds awesome. Man I’m just a football fan. Life is too short to not have great football games in it, in particular, college football. Might just be the best damn sport in the world. Sure it’s better to win than to lose, but I’m so down for games that all matter and have a ton of pressure baked into them. That’s a good thing, not a bad thing. Sure hope we take the 10 wins but I’m down either way.
Excited as hell to play ATM again, too. I’ll see you there brother.
Glad to be in the SEC. Looking forward to a fun future.

All sh** talk aside, we’re glad to be in the SEC. Can’t wait to visit all the stadiums, hang out at the tailgates, and get to know a new group of football nuts.
SEC has some incredible teams, amazing rivalries, and some incredible athletes. We will do our best to hold up our end at keeping this a top conference.
Look, I get it. Texas is a power player. Has been for a long time. But we’re not coming to SEC to try to run the place or any of that drivel. In fact I love that there’s a ton of history here and it’s not based on us like the SWC and B12 were. Frankly it will be nice to just be a part of something bigger.
We’re just gonna show up and build the best thing we can and let the chips fall where they may. I hope it’s a lot of fun and I’ll be buying a lot of beers for those around us in the stands to say hello these first few years.
Cheers from Texas.

I’m willing to own he’s whatever Elko and Saban are, in the sense that they are all guilty of the same thing.
What we’re all pushing back about is that Elko is a man of character ands Schloss is a scumbag simply because Elko did it FOR ATM and Schloss did it AGAINST ATM.
If all three are scumbags, so be it. I think the truth is more moderate that that but just paint all with the same brush.

That LSU team was so damned good. Honestly, they deserved the NC that year and I’m just proud Texas fought like hell and took them to the wire.
It hurt at the time, but rewatching that game, they just played beautiful football.

Where are the apparent death threats? A&M hired Alberts. That was the last straw. Their first mistake started with hiring Bjork. Another POS failure. And did Ole Miss a favor.
It’s a legit paper with an editorial board. I know in the days of blogging that you kinda forget that there are standards, but they could not put that there were death threats without some level of verification or the editor faces great controversy.

Option A
Hire someone lie Skip Johnson
Lose the entire offense
Lose key portal transfers
Lose key high commits
Hope Skip come bring in some of his own transfers & commits
Likely be bad in 2025
Hope he can built the program back up
Option B
Hire Earley
Keep the majority of the offense, portal, & HS Commits
Likely be great in 2025
Hope he can be successful as a first time HC.
But he’s one of the slimiest scumbags ATM has ever seen right? He participated in the mutiny and left ATM high and dry in the middle of the night.
I thought Aggies were the moral paragon? You would embrace that slimeball back just becuase it helps you keep players and would be a good coach?
The moral gymnastics you guys do is hysterical.

The PoS and Texas are trying to do damage control. What a crock of shite
Not sure you’re following along. Texas doesn’t need damage control.
1. We got the coach and his staff.
2. He, as well as others in the public now, have affirmed his value as a coach as well as his reasons for leaving. .
3. People may agree with him leaving or not, but coaches do that and those stories don’t last for long.
4. The damage control is on the Aggie side. Y’all are having a hell of a time finding a replacement and Alberts is looking more and more like he’ll have a hot seat before he’s been at ATM for full year.
5. The Aggie smear campaign is pretty obvious to everyone. Even the podcast guys in college sports are getting tired of the aggy crocodile tears. You’d have to split hair follicles to see the difference in how Schloss left ATM and how Elko left Duke and yet the Aggie approach to both situations is literally on hyperbolic ends of the spectrum. No one is buying it, and you guys getting uppity and sanctimonious about it just makes everyone get fatigued with you faster.
6. What they’re about to learn is—y’all don’t give up. They think this will pass for you, but they’re seeing how long you whine and whine and whine about this stuff. Three years from now you’re still gonna be wound up about this and the rest of the world will be screaming at you “Just make it stop”.

Why are all the other former players not credible?
Why are all the other former players not credible?[/quote]
1. They have direct current emotion and self interest.
2. They are not would series winning adult players with the depth of perspective and comparisons on his coaching that Arrieta has. (Bigger context and wisdom equals much greater credibility).
3. Arrieta stated that the types of players who bumped heads with pierce tend to have a pattern in who they are. Not only did Arrieta stand up for his character and credentials, he warned about the entitled types who might be making trouble. Doesn’t mean any player with a critique is one of those types, but it certainly suggests a deeper look into their performance and motives needs to be taken.
4. Aggie just lost 89% of its top recruiting class ever. Most of those players left and y’all yelled “addition by subtraction! We want those willing to work hard and show guts!” Now here comes Arrieta saying exactly that—the players that will leave Schloss are the addition by subtraction types, and he’s the guy pushing them toward excellence and not entitlement. But you somehow want to believe not the World Series pitcher with intimate knowledge of both Schloss and MLB coaches but the college kids he suggests you take with a grain of salt.
Sorry. Again, it’s just intellectually dishonest.
