re: Saints Vikings trade rumors

I would trade Jamies for a 5th round choice.
If Carr got hurt and without SP, I don't see Jamies winning games for us with this coaching staff. At that point the season would be over anyway.
Plus, we have Taysom to play QB as well. I don't think he's a permanent solution but we pay TH a lot of money so why not lean on him if Carr got hurt. In addition, I wouldn't mind Haener getting reps for experience once we're out of the playoff picture.
What a great time of year to be a New Orleanian.
Floats, marching bands, socializing with family, old friends and new friends, with great food and spirits. The best!
I did see a publication that WH was a 4*. However, WH was referenced as a 5* according to articles in The Athletic, The Reveille, the Lafayette Daily Advertiser, Zach Nagy, Glenn Guilbeau at Outkick, and WAFB TV.
I don't follow the rating agencies (I realize they can differ in player ratings) so I rely on what I read. I figure if more than one publication lists him as a 5*, then I would be accurate if I referred to him as a 5*.
However, that wasn't the point I wanted to make.
The point of my rant is I think LSU is in a good place at QB even if we didn't land either of these highly rated guys that happen to be from Louisiana. It's not often we can make that statement.
It isn't often Louisiana produces a 5-star QB, and yet over the past two years we've produced two.
Times have changed because LSU has two talented QBs even without them, and with more talent coming with Collins and Hurley.
Regardless of not having Manning or Howard, LSU is in a great situation. It's a crazy statement to make, but I believe it.
Note: I'd prefer to have Manning and/or Howard as opposed to not having them, but the cupboard isn't bare.
Geaux Tigers!

We view it differently.

I get it, but that's a typical risk any school faces with any recruit. Both parties go into it with that understanding.
Perhaps my view is different from yours in that I understand this, so when teenagers act like teenagers and change their mind, I don't get bent out of shape and trash the kid. I'm disappointed, yes. But that's where it ends for me.

I agree with you.
I get it that the rants are disappointed with an LSU players decision to transfer. Especially a highly touted, local guy who plays QB. However, trashing a teenager for a decision that he thinks will better himself is not warranted.
I agree with you 100%.
Like it or not, starting for LSU is not the primary objective for WH. Getting to the NFL is his primary objective and as a high draft choice as you put it.
I've seen this situation first hand. My son played soccer at the highest level, which means we played travel ball and HS ball. He was good enough to make all state 3 times (goal keeper), he won 2 state championships and everything every parent did on those teams was to improve their son's chances to advance to the next level. However, my son got burned out by his junior year and made a decision not to advance to the next level.
And he could have - at 6'4 and 190 pounds he was recruited since his freshman year. But he knew his parents had the resources to attend LSU without a scholarship and with TOPS (due to Title 9, LSU and many Division I schools don't have a men's soccer team).
I wish the best for WH and I understand why he did he did though.
It's a win/win for all involved.
The Chargers have draft picks to trade to the Saints and they are in the AFC. CSP gets his elite QB with a playoff team.

IMO Nuss won't be on the roster in 2023.
Nuss will transfer at some point this offseason.
I think decisions by both Kayshon and Nuss are directly related to JD staying for his senior year.

Mad? Upset? Actually, I took it as a compliment....because it's obvious LSU is in Kirby Smart's head rent free....
Why else would he do something so classless?

RIP Coach Leach. You were a special person and sports fans from across the country will miss you.
Shanahan is a good coach for sure.
But Payton is a great coach and he's won a Super Bowl.
I'd take either of them, but I'm a homer and I'd pick SP first.
I'd welcome SP back in a nano second
WTF, that's a pen in the box
Stetson will be a winner in life wherever it takes him. I have nothing but respect for the guy.
The natty was legit! Everyone deals with injuries.
