When you ask anyone outside of the south what they think a person from Mississippi is, they think fat, stupid, poor and racist.
quote:
To be fair, most southerners think of Mississippi that way as well.
Most educated southerners think of uneducated southerners that way too.
BTW, being a racist is not the sole domain of the fat, stupid and poor. (Not by a long shot) Just as California and the Northeast USA are not the sole domain of bleeding heart Liberals.

So, he'll have a team Pastor. Will he be a non-denominational Pastor? What if there are any Muslims, Buddists, Pagans, Wiccans, Agnostics or Athiests on the team?...............

Because they are doing this to tout their new lightweight fabrics and other engineering improvements in the unis. They are trying to drum up more uniform contracts, and this is a national stage to talk about their products.
Nike can advertise their new lightweight fabrics and uniform engineering improvements without putting teams in Circus Clown uniforms. What's wrong with using a teams traditional uniform design with the new technology incorporated into those uniforms?...........

Sumlin hasn't been at Houston long enough with consistent success to prove he has the "Entire Package." They were 5-7 this year without Holgorsen at OC and Keenum at QB. Definite warning signs...........

Only attended one bowl, 1978 Liberty as a member of T-band.
That game and trip sucked. Freezing as shite! The only fun part of the trip was the joint practice with the Missouri Band. I remember me and one of the other Bass Drummers walking several miles down the interstate in freezing weather at about 11pm to find something to eat because the hotel restaurant was closed. We wound up at a fried chicken place in a "Bad Area", but the cold walk was worth it because that was some damn good fried chicken! We took some of our meal money allotment, bought a big bag and brought it back to the room.
My favorite Bowl was next year at the 79 Tangerine in Orlando. (We got a week in warm Florida and got to do the "Parade through Disney World" thing.)
Let's see, I've been to all the LSU Sugar Bowls going back to the two in the 60's against Syracuse and Wyoming.........

Florida is a job where they could probably hire anyone.
yet, they go for Muschamp. An unproved coach with no head coaching experience.
Middle of the road hire. They better hope it doesn't turn out like the last time that happened.
Muschamp must give one hell of an interview OR is one of the biggest "Up the Wazoo" smoke blowers of all time. We'll all find out soon enough............

But Sumlin at Houston would have been a much better pick in my book.
 Your book must be "Green eggs and Ham" by Dr.Suess then.
Sumlin was 5-7 at Houston this season and has been lost without Holgorsen (The real brains of that outfit) as OC and Keenum at QB............

That would be a great hire.
Great coordinators don't always make great head coaches. Too many other things envolved with being a successful head coach than actual coaching. Program organization, public relations, recruiting, attention to details, hiring the right coordinators and assistants, etc. Some can make the transition, some can't. Only time will tell, but it's a huge "Feast or Famine" risk to hire any OC/DC that's never been a head coach..........

ask Larry Porter
Porter probably wont be the head coach at Memphis after the 2011 season, maybe 2012 at the latest. In over his head. Never should have been hired in the first place. I mean c'mon, what makes a RB coach that has never been anything BUT a RB coach, qualified to take over and run a major college football program?
quote:
in other words.. it's not a great idea to hire a position coach to HC just because he's a talented recruiter.
It's also not a great idea to hire an assistant coach to coach ANY position just because he's a talented recruiter. That's Rantard "Kooky Talk" logic at it's finest..............

TV numerals went out in the 70's for a reason. Logos look better. You already have numerals on the front, back and the shoulder or sleeve of the jersey. Don't need numerals on the helmets.

I still don't understand why someone would ask this question on a message board rather than just looking it up like you did
Same reason all the geeks ask questions about tickets instead of calling or emailing the ticket office. Same reason they ask questions about the band, instead of contacting the band office. Same reason they complainawhine ad nauseum about everything on the Rant, instead of contacting the appropriate person in the atletic department.
They get off in seeing their posts up on the board. It's kind of like a status symbol amongst young professional message board geeks.......

I'd like just one of the U.S.L. cutie pies to show us all an official document showing where the Louisiana Legislature officially renamed your school the University of Louisiana?
It's really laughable that these people, who btw are suffering from a massive case of penis envy, think of their little regional university on the same level of a real "University of" school. Think yall can hang either academically or athletically with the likes of the University of Texas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia or Tennesse? Not even close. (Picture the "University of Louisiana" competing in the S.E.C.)
Louisiana has enough embarrassments without having to endure the shame of a "University of Louisiana" that just doesn't belong. Everybody knows what you are, so just cut the delusion and fantasy that you're ready to enter the adult world of colleges and universities, when you're still wearing diapers.................
