re: Anyone financed a new car lately?
Posted by AirbusDawg on 4/24/25 at 9:48 pm
Tundra recently with 1.9%. That's better than paying cash. I'll let my money earn me more, and borrow from the bank for less.

There are a lot of great courses in Cabo. They all include food and drink with the guest fee. Every four holes you will drink and eat your arse off. The food is usually really good.
re: Advice on truck purchase

I had a 2023 Hybrid Tundra that was great, until a deer decided he would run right at me and totaled it. 56,000 miles and not one issue. Insurance company paid me $5000 over what I paid for it, so got another 2024 Hybrid Tundra and love it just as much. Don't listen to the garbage. Toyota stepped up to the plate with the ones that had the machine debris in the engine. No other auto manufacturer would have done the same.
re: Colonoscopies. Yes or no?
Posted by AirbusDawg on 4/17/25 at 9:27 am
My wife had one a couple years ago. I guess the doctor accidentally scraped her colon on the way out. That night we had to return to the ER and they had to go in and stitch it up. What was supposed to be a 100% covered procedure turned into a $15,000 operation. Sure, insurance covered most, but still ended up with a $3000 bill after paying ER copay and deductable. These doctors do these procedures like an assembly line.
re: Lexus GX-550...Anyone on the board own a Lexus GX550?
Posted by AirbusDawg on 4/17/25 at 9:19 am
Surprised to hear the gas mileage is so low on these. My 2024 Tundra is getting 21mpg since I got it a couple weeks ago. It's the hybrid engine, but I was told the hybrids aren't really for gas mileage, but more for towing and torque. My guess is the GX550's will start coming down in price much like the Tundras did two years after they came out. I managed to pick up a new 2024 holdover Capstone for $69,000, which was over $15k off the Msrp price. Dealer up near Pittsburgh had two Capstones that sat on their lot for almost a year. They still have another available for $68k if anyone is in the market.

Damn, you boys are rich. Still waiting on my accountant to finish mine. Glad we have until May 1st in Georgia to pay this year.
re: OT help - college kid fender bender, parent being difficult

Call the police. Doesn't matter if it's on private property or not, they will still file a report and with the note, be able to make it their fault on the report. Only thing the police can't do is give the other kid a ticket.
re: Who handled it worse: Rory or Bryson

Do people just hate Bryson because he wore that goofy hat at the beginning of his career?
He wore it to honor his Childhood idol, Payne Stewart. I never saw it as goofy.
re: Rory was tuned up this weekend. Increased his average driving distance by nearly 25yds.

The shot on 17 was his best. A foot shorter and it rolls off front of the green. He hit some amazing shots. Begs to wonder what was in that drink he was sipping all day. That was a bit awkward seeing him carry around a sippy cup the entire round.
re: Rory!! Rory!! Rory!!
Posted by AirbusDawg on 4/13/25 at 8:44 pm
Congrats to Rory, although not one of my favorite players, he hit some clutch shots today when he needed it.
I've been watching the Masters for better part of 40 years and this has to be the worst televised one so far. It seemed so predetermined and the announcers seemed to be rooting for Rory from the start. I know it was for a career grand slam, but Dottie was over the top gushing over every shot he hit. Nantz has definitely last his touch, and the ceremony at the end seemed very awkward.

re: Seems Iike PGA is better than LIV

Good thing the Masters ain't PGA.
re: Can Rory manage to keep it together?
Posted by AirbusDawg on 4/12/25 at 9:44 pm
Rory is gonna pull a Norman tomorrow. He will shoot 71, but Bryson will shoot 68 to win by one.
re: Hey you Tennessee Dolls, I mean Vols...I don't like you but I fully support your decision.

I hope he gets made an example of and no team gives him an NIL deal.

re: So who on here was saying this whole tariff business was about China prior to today?
Posted by AirbusDawg on 4/9/25 at 9:42 pm
It was never about China, but all the other countries called Trump's Bluff, so he decided to just go all in with China. In the end, we will have the same results as if he did nothing at all.
re: Trump on tariff:People were jumping a bit out of line. They were getting a little bit yipee

They all called his Bluff and he caved big time.

Democrats should owe Trump an apology.. Trump got all the countries on their knees now, well except China.
Everyone called his Bluff, he blinked and tried to save face playing tough with China. Give it another week and he will back down to the Chinese as well

Sorry, but Trump has been a retard on these Tariffs.
re: LIV posts atrocious ratings for Miami
Posted by AirbusDawg on 4/8/25 at 9:45 pm
I watched most of Sundays round of LIV. It was more entertaining than the PGA event. If you take all the politics out of it, it's great to watch. If they would come up with better graphics, it would be easier on the eyes. Not sure why people have to be so one or the other. I enjoy watching golf, I could care less which tour I'm watching as long as the course is interesting.
