Alabama has one more CFP T25 win than we do. Our losses are worse than theirs. That's the difference.
The real crime here is Clemson being ranked 12. They have ZERO T25 wins. They played two good teams all year and got smoked both times. Arizona State should have had that 12 spot.

I think there’s a good chance they would. They will at least consider seriously whether a two loss team with no quality wins is better than a three loss team with two quality wins

FWIW ESPN’s projections have us at 13, one spot behind Bama. That really means 14 since B12 champ gets an automatic
If SMU loses in ACC title game we should jump them since they have no quality wins. That means we need one of the following to happen:

Since he turned down the Auburn job, I have felt the same way. If a real legacy program came calling, he would seriously consider it. But there are only a few of those programs and those jobs rarely come open. ...
