Mizzou did beat MO St though, unlike someone
re: Are Mizzou fans looking on wanting SC to finish 0-18?

I don’t think any Mizzou fans thought this good. It was pretty much try to get to 8-9 SEC wins and get into the NCAAT. They are a legit 2nd weekend tournament team.

Tenn is legit on defense, but their 2nd half offense was the difference. Took it to another level in the 2nd half.

We were capable for a bad game on the road and really it was the worst we played all year. That looked like our floor. I don’t think Texas is all that good, they certainly didn’t play all that great tonight either. Frustrating low IQ basketball from the tigers, bad coaching decisions, and terrible fouls off the ball. Give credit to Texas for destroying us on 2nd chance pts.

Its more of trying to balance out the actual conference games with every team actually trying to play each other.

SEC should just go to 9 game schedule, play 3 permanent rivals and then rotate the remaining 12 playing 6 on odd years, and 6 on even years and you play every single team home and away in a 4 year period. The SEC has too many ebbs and flows of programs being consistently good to have a random set schedule.

Not every team plays to their potential every week.
If we are talking highest of ceilings for every team or their A game, I probably would rank the teams that were vying for a playoff spot like this:
Ohio St
Next Tier no Particular Order:
Oregon, Georgia, Texas
Georgia obviously is really hard to rank with the QB injury.
Next tier in no Particular Order:
Notre Dame, Penn St, Alabama, Ole Miss, Arizona St
Next Tier:
Miami, South Carolina, Indiana, SMU
I will lump the Big 12 all together in the last tier Arizona St, Colorado, BYU, Iowa St but Arizona St was the best team at the end of the season. I think we saw Arizona St best effort come up just short.
Oregon was really good this season and consistently good. They ran into a buzzsaw in Ohio St that played to their ceiling in that first half when Oregon played their worst.
The matchups matter in getting to the CFP CG. I think we have a totally different final 4 if the teams were based off rankings over the auto bid seeding.

re: Why did the SEC win Nati's at an average rate until 2003, then won 15 of last 20?

Saban resurrecting LSU, Urban running a prison at Florida, Saban post NFL running CFB at Bama, Cam Newton, and Georgia bringing in the Saban disciple that worked. All while you the mid tier teams step up their games as well, minus Tenner.

Shane acted like a baby back bitch and Bert would have kicked his arse if he actually tried to do anything.

Not related to WN leaving, really not much sour grapes about it outside of the optics. I think Mizzou will be fine. I think that 1 free transfer and grad transfer should be an option. After that I think players should have to sit out 1 year for transferring a 2nd time. The only exception to that would be HC change. I would say you could add “mutual” transfers, but it would just turn into all transfer requests would be granted.

Mehki Wingo wasn’t a 5* recruit and was a major contributor to the defense when he left, Mizzou also was coming off a terrible season

Hearing Nebraska is going to be a factor in this one, they hired Mozee who was his HS coach.

It was known that he wasn’t going to be a major contributor going into last season, and was probably our 5th best de last year. He is there physically, but needed the time to adjust to CFB. He played in 4 games and wasn’t really a factor this season. Someone is going to pay up to get him, and he is probably going to be a good player in 2 years. This hurts more the perception of Mizzou program after back to back good seasons losing instate 5* more than next year on the field. It’s just where cfb is with NIL and portal.

I am fine with dropping the Conference Champ game if it means going to a playoff like this.
FCS does it and it works fine.
Hell even drop the FCS game

I would say his stats were definitely disappointing this season vs the expectations, but that was also our entire offense. Dude is a still a baller.

Let me fix that for you, LB3, SEC 1st Teamer, THE Luther Burden has declared for the NFL draft as a likely 1st round pick and will be skipping out the bowl game.
