re: Tennessee fans, how did Lance Heard do last night?
Posted by Kraven Moorehed on 10/6/24 at 6:58 pm
Meanwhile, I seriously question Tennessee's oline coach. Heard has been dealing with a knee injury that he just came back from to be fair to him.
re: The more I look into the Vandy win, the more insane it is

The way Vandy was playing on offense any defense would have struggled. It was beautiful. They are going to get some more upsets if that level of play continues.

TBH the conversative mode would have worked if they didn't run into the punter or start false starting like crazy. It worked against Oklahoma. Nico has got to stop missing open throws, though.

Main issue with the team right now is that Nico is terrible managing the pocket and is missing throws due to happy feet. I do agree the oline should be better than they are at this point. Having to rely on transfers instead of recruiting and developing talent hurts. The line will never be great doing that.
Will wait until the end of the season to really determine, but I'm fine with the defense at this point.
This is another year of Heupel protecting his QB. It was hard to watch last year, but this year its extremely disappointing. More starting experience can help so not all hope is lost with him.

He looks fat and out of shape. Was visibly sucking wind every time the camera was on him.

He said in the interview that he went to Colorado because Deion is black lol

We need to fix our high school programs before we can expect better. We produced exactly one 5 star in the past decade. Mississippi, who has fewer people, produced 9. Alabama, who has 5.5 million to our 3.5 million produced 17.
Y'all need to hire some Texas people who can sneak some talent out of that state. Oklahoma has comparable high school football talent, but loads up on Texans every year. Also, should go the Tennessee route and find a coach who teaches a gimmick spread offense.

Richardson has been awesome for the Colts up to the injury. He is made for the pro game. His problem is that he’s made of glass. Dude is always injured. He does not know how to slide.
Awesome is a stretch. Mediocre with a flash every now and then is more accurate. They are going to have to stop all the designed QB runs with him. His body just isn't durable enough.

The reason why Georgia blew out Tennessee is because of reason #3. Georgia was able to win with its defensive line. Georgia was able to consistently get pressure with 3 and 4 man fronts without the need to bring safety and linebacker blitz. Because of this, Georgia didn't have to respect the run and was able to double cover Tennessee's recievers. This effectively kills their offense because they are forced to make multiple underneath contested throws with zero run support.
Getting consistent pressure with 3 or 4 guys is going to kill any offense.

Kentucky too high

50th would be too generous
re: Somebody help me with Tennessee
Posted by Kraven Moorehed on 12/29/22 at 5:10 pm
I would not. Milton has not proved he can be a decent starter. He has some great throws to wide open guys while playing against back ups. That is it. The offense also looks a great deal worse when Hyatt isn't the main focus.

See Garcia’s game against #1 Bama in 2010……out of body experience. A singular qb performance that was legendary and still talked about. I think Garcia went 17/20 with 3 TD’s and one INT. The interception was a perfect pass to Alshon Jeffrey that bounced off his hands. Garcia’s stats weren’t mind blowing but almost every pass Garcia threw was perfect and he did it against the #1 team and reigning national champs.
I think Rattler had a similar out of body experience last night with even better stats
Thank you. This is what I was looking for. It makes me feel better. Now I am going to go sit in a dark room for the rest of the day.

All three of those sports had good seasons. Arkansas lost to Texas A&M.

Can you give me an example of the number 5 team getting absolutely annihilated at the end of the season by an unranked team? Tennessee has good wins so it is not like they have hidden behind a big 10 schedule.
Just get to 10 wins
Posted by Kraven Moorehed on 11/20/22 at 1:59 pm
Huge fricking disappointment and highly embarrassing. Nothing else to say on last night. I'm not sure I have ever seen anything like that. The number 5 team get demolished at the end of a season by an unranked team.
But whatever. Beat Vandy to win 10 in the regular season for the first time in forever and it is still a good season. Heupel has to get a new DB coach in the offseason and pick up recruiting.

South Carolina Fans Explain

I understand Tennessee has a horrendous defense that hands out career days for QBs like candy, but even considering that Rattler played phenomenal. I had never seen him play before last night. I was lead to believe he was horrible. He made some NFL throws last night, had a quick release, and went through his progressions quickly. Has he shown flashes before? Did he finally put it all together or was that just an out of body experience? I still dumbfounded by what I witnessed last night.
